non-random results - Triple Play Video Poker

I've noticed some non-random results with Triple Play video poker.
Strangely, the triple play only machines seem to do better than playing triple play
on a Triple/Five Play machines. The ones I'm talking about are those that
have blue/red signs.

If I am playing triple play I often get 3 of a kind dealt, yet the number of
times I get 4 of a kind as a result seems way too low. Obviously there may be
some non-objective viewing and a low amount of trials, but still this does
seem odd. You should get 4 of a kind approximately 1 in 22 1/2 times.

Today for example I played 1 machine and 9 times had 3 of a kind dealt.
This = 27 events. Okay, this might happen.

Then I sat at the machine next to it and got trips dealt about 30 times or
90 events (30 x 3 lines) without quads resulting.

I've noticed this over and over.

As I've mentioned, strangely when I am playing on the Triple Play only
machines (no 5 times) I seem to get better results.

I've also noticed a few other oddities, such as when 4 to a flush is dealt
with the middle space blank, you get fewer final 5 to a flush than with other
spaces being the empty space.

Also I get a large amount of AJQK holds where not only does no 10 show up,
but no maching high cards either. (cards in any order)
If ATJK shows up, the Queen will often be there on 1 line. (again no
particular order for cards).

I haven't kept track of all these and other hands, but after a lot of play I
do seem to find some non-random results at times.

Quads do happen when trips are dealt, at times, and sometimes (extremely
rarely) quads on 2 lines of 3. Still, the frequency seems off.

Just wondered if anyone else feels that these machines may not be entirely
random?

this does

seem odd. You should get 4 of a kind approximately 1 in 22 1/2

times.

i get 46 types of 4k out of 1081 possible 2 card draws, so odds of not
getting one is (1081-46)/1081, odds of not getting one on any of three
lines is ((1081-46)/1081)^3, so odds of getting one or more is
1-((1081-46)/1081)^3, invert it to get the cycle: 8.18 (1 in 8.18)

Today for example I played 1 machine and 9 times had 3 of a kind

dealt.

This = 27 events. Okay, this might happen.

(((1081-46)/1081)^3)^9= 31%

Then I sat at the machine next to it and got trips dealt about 30

times or

90 events (30 x 3 lines) without quads resulting.

(((1081-46)/1081)^3)^30= 2%
that does seem unusual
but it's only 30/8.18= 3.7cycles
i'd like to see 25 cycles (25x8.18= 205 dealt trips) then you should
get 25 +/-10 (95% of the time) of one or more quad results
this is a good example of a hand to keep a record of, it's hard to
miss and unlikely to be misplayed, all you have to do is record the
machine number and keep track of each dealt trip and its result (none,
1, 2 or 3 quads), if you get outside of 25+/-10 you should stop play,
possibly complain to your host (this might get you in trouble of
course), and probably file a complaint with the regulators, i believe
nevada has an anonymous process if that's a concern

i haven't noticed any problems, but, it certainly could happen
multiplays can be very streaky in the short term because they are
really dependent on getting the good dealt hands

here's an example, it's not exactly what you're after, but, you can
run winpoker in autoplay and check the results:
i'm interested in the full houses, flushes and straights, they have a
cycle about 90, so i ran 90x25=2250 hands and i got 20 full houses, 27
flushes and 25 straights (remember i said i was looking for 25+/-10)
try it yourself, if you run it 33 times you should get some anomalies
(the expectation is for about 5 out of 99 outside of 25+/-10)

does anyone remember the fiasco a few years back on the keno machines in one of the canadian casinos. they would shut the machines down at night, and when then turned them back on in the morning they would reset on the same seed number. were these machines supposed to be random? makes you wonder if this random number generator is actually just a manufactured random series.

I had a very strange result practicing on WinPoker a year or so ago.
I sent a post about it but got no replies. I started playing DB and
played about 6 hands, when I made a dumb mistake and wanted to start
over, so I clicked "set all totals to zero." When I resumed play, I
had the same cards dealt to me for all 6 hands.

This is probably a small glich in winpoker. Since winpoker users a
sequential PRNG that is seeded at startup and all hands are hence
forth determined, it is likely that the same seed used at startup was
used again when you reset the totals after only 6 hands. Probably
requires some specific timing on your part and would not be
reproducible.

Just a wild a** guess ...
