Subject: Nominees for 2005 vpFREE HALL OF FAME Inductee

In April 2002 the vpFREE Video Poker Group elected and
inducted five charter members into the vpFREE VIDEO POKER HALL
OF FAME, which recognizes and honors those who have made
significant contributions to the playing, understanding and
popularity of video poker. These charter members and the 2003
and 2004 inductees are honored on the Hall of Fame web site:

The vpFREE Administrative Committee has selected thirteen
nominees for the 2005 inductee into the vpFREE VIDEO POKER
HALL OF FAME:

Jazbo Burns
Jeffrey Compton
Anthony Curtis
Larry DeMar
John Grochowski
Skip Hughes
Steve Jacobs
John "Lodestone" Kelly
Ernie Moody
Jean "The Queen of Comps" Scott
Michael "The Wizard of Odds" Shackleford
Tom Ski
Jim Wolf

The 2005 Nominee web page which lists the nominees and a
short, video poker relevant biography can be viewed at:

The 2005 Hall of Fame election will be conducted between 26
July and 9 August. The nominee who receives the most votes
from the 4900+ vpFREE members will be the 2005 Hall of Fame
inductee. Each vpFREE member may cast one vote for one
nominee, and can change their vote at any time during the
voting period. If there is a tie vote, the vpFREE
Administrative Committee will break the tie and determine the
2005 inductee.

This process will be repeated in 2006 and 2007. In 2008 and
subsequent years, an inductee must win the popular vote, and
then receive approval of 75% of the voting members in a second
election. If the popular vote winner doesn't receive 75%
approval, there won't be an inductee that year.

Between now and 26 JUL, additional nominees can be suggested
by vpFREE members (along with their qualifications), and
the merits of anyone's favorite can be expounded and
discussed. Any suggested nominee(s) who receive majority
approval from the Administrative Committee will be added to
the list of nominees.

I respectfully submit the name of "Lenny" Frome to receive the
first posthumous Hall of Fame nomination.

I truly believe that w/o the computer statistics and magazine
columns which Lenny produced in the 80's, that VP as we know it
today would not exist. He did the pioneer work upon which most of
today's VP mathematicians (and most VP Gurus) have based their work.

I still treasure old copies of his columns and strategy tables,
first published in Cardplayer magazine. For the most part, his
strategies (minus the penalty cards) is still very accurate.

Lenny Frome also promoted VP to the masses, whenever he had the
opportuntity. His stated goal was to make VP the "National Game of
Choice" in the US. To that end, he educated 1000's of gamblers in
how to play VP with optimum strategy & EV.

I think that it is only right for Lenny Frome to be honored in this
way, as he is the original "Father of Video Poker".

Thank you O Wise One! That was before my time on the
board, and I neglected to look it up.

I'm very glad that Lenny was accorded his due recognition.
