No winning at Wynn

My Wynn host informed me today that they have determined me to
be "a skilled player" and I will no longer be receiving marketing
mailers from them. I have never played anything but Jacks or Better
there. She denied that it was based on win/loss and insisted that
they now "have ways" to evaluate player skill.

Why do they still offer the 100% machines if they do not wish to
attract skilled players?

Remember next time a Wynn suit smiles at you, they are doing so
because they think you are a retard.

I suspect that you are in fact a "skilled player". At least you are
still welcome to play in the casino. Did they also cut off comps? I
think there is a lesson to be learned here. No longer is the slot club
computer simply an adding machine, those days are gone. If I give some
good action, I will usually throw a few coins in a slot machine for
good measure. I do not want them thinking I am simply a player that
picks high return VP games. I figure that will exempt me from a
computer search for VP players only =skilled.

I do the same thing, Hammy. I throw at least one twenty in a WOF
every day. However, to be brutally honest, I do also ENJOY playing
the WOF, and have been amazingly lucky in this endeavor. Heck, a
girl has to have some fun along with the serious business of VP!

I have heard and read this elsewhere, and do believe that it is true.
Nevertheless, I refuse to believe that those of us still receiving
juicy offers, are VP dolts!

Why do they still offer the 100% machines if they do not

Actually, I think that they are trying to attract UNskilled players,
who, having heard that these machines can be beaten, are willing to
squander vast sums of money trying to do just that. However, when
they suspect that AP's are playing their 100% machines, they get
very nervous.

Remember next time a Wynn suit smiles at you, they are

What a letdown! I thought they smiled at me because I look like
Liz Taylor! (-:

Wow....Wynn sure is skiddish. I guess some countermeasures are in order, like playing a few coins on a slot machine.

Which JoB machines were you playing? I usually play the 50-play. Did you have a big winning session? I remember Bob reported the same thing happening after a dealt royal.

  I wonder if I'm next....

I've stopped playing there because I have been cut off from comps, and I think they know that I'm a skilled player. Of course, it's nothing official, it's just that the last several times I've played there ($10k coin in or more during each single session) they told me that I needed to play "just a little more" to qualify for a comp to the buffet. They'd never answer my question abuot how much more.

As far as "ways of knowing" who the skilled players are -- there are ways that would be pretty easy to implement, especially in a property like the Wynn. There are work-arounds for those methods as well. Unfortunately, while I have strong theoretical approaches, I'm not skilled enough to figure out the technicalities.

Not to my knowledge. These countermeasures may be limited to locals
for the time being as she made a comment that she could not invite
me to slot tournaments due to my local address. Perhaps if I got an
out of town mailing address, I could continue to rape and pillage
with my "great skills".

I experienced the same doublespeak from a Red Card boothling regarding
a comp for the buffet. The funny thing is it was the same guy I had
previously spoken to a couple of weeks earlier, so I called him down
on it by practically quoting exactly what he said. He got kind of
flustered and gave me a business card for a slot host named Jessica,
who "could see more of my account".

So I went to the host area and was then directed to the High Limit
Slots area, where I met Jessica. I explained exactly what happened and
only wanted someone to tell me the truth, even though I was merely a
low roller 25c VP player. So I was kind of surprised when she said I
would receive two buffets anytime I wanted. All this from only playing
the 4 machines everybody knows.

Perhaps it is a coincidence, but it was after that meeting that I
started to receive the monthly letter offering the Free Credits each
week for play Monday through Thursday. The whole thing is quite
perplexing, as I like to play those 4 machines once a week, and would
play them with or without the Free Credits.

I think they are trying to weed out skilled players, but they don't know how to recognize one. So they stop sending offers to people that win, even if it is big just one time. They do the same for people who are DEALT royals on multi-line. They are paranoid about local players, as if all locals are skilled. Seems like you can even play the 100% machine as long as you continually lose. I do not think they really have any way to do this with software programs. They are using pathetic, desperate, and unknowledgeable measures. Someone or ones are scared of losing their jobs!!!

I think Jean is absolutely right!!!
From out of town, I receive Wynn offers in the mail a lot in addition
to personal calls/invites from my casino host.
About a month or so ago, I hit a Royal on a $5 vp machine.
I have not seen any Wynn invitation in the mail since.

Plus, maybe the fact that Wynn just got to the Winner's Circle pages
of some magazines recently due to the 2 jackpots hit on the Megabucks
slot machines, they probably have attracted enough "slot" players to
compensate on losing some vp players. Then, the Wynn Macau just
opened...

IF we all stop playing at Wynn for a while, maybe they'll start
sending us those good offers again, maybe?

As I posted here a few months ago, I've been "made" at the Wynn as
well. My "Dear John" letter from my host read in part: "I do
apologize, but I have no control over promos. I hope you play here and
I am sure that you will receive more promos if you started to play
reels instead of poker. As we both know, you have much better odds at
video poker based on your skill level."

I've spoken to my host about this quite a bit and he has consistently
indicated they're basing this decision based on win, versus any "skill
level" measured any other way. My argument "well, if i've been very
lucky there, how are you going to win any money back from me with this
kind of policy?" was not successful, to say the least...

Good thing they didn't assign a name to those 4 machines after one of
their shows "Le Reve".
Otherwise, it will be easier for them to keep track of what machines
people play if they had named those 4 after the guy who made the
suggestions --- and they would have called it "Le Rob". :>

I was only pursuing local's mailers like the weekly Free Play and that
awesome bonus quads promotion. Last year I was invited to and
attended an invitational slot tournament which included limited RFB.
It was my understanding that these invites were rare to locals so I
did not request entry into others. I think I was excluded from
mailings after my last Free Play mailer in February. I did not play
there again until last month when I gave them one day of play and
followed that up with a call to my assigned host to investigate my
lack of mail. It took about a week to get the answer.

Having worked in 2 casinos, the fact is slot machines are designed
to separate you from your money, not double it. And yes they get
tightened on weekends, and especially on holidays. As for offers,
they are pursuing the average middle of the line player. High
rollers will spend regardless, and the lower end drifts around like
tumbleweed. October and November are the in between months, and
everything gets adjused accordingly, including freebies. And with
two more properties closing very soon, the casinos know that they
don't have to do a lot.
