No one's put a play on here in ages

As you know, I have always received the top level mailer from the Palms.

I only play the $2 10/7 DB single lines when there are NO other promos going
on there, which is pretty rare. If there are drawings, or multipoints, or
almost anything else, I will play multiline. Since the coupon did NOT exclude
the 100% games, that made it even more attractive to play the $2 10/7s, and I
saw no need to stop as soon as I used the coupon. I find the game itself, plus
single points, to be "adequate," if not outstanding.

Granted, as a busy guy, your time is probably more valuable than mine is. I
can afford to "waste" it playing $2 single line if I want to, without any
downside for me. For a person such as yourself, with many demands on your time,
combining the use of the coupon and playing on less than 100% machines to
qualify for the mailer, the $2 5-play NSUDs was probably most efficient. For
someone who simply wants to use the coupon as quickly as possible and get out,
without regard to daily average, the $2 5-play 9/6 JOB might be best.
Different goals, different strokes!

One other note. The Palms coupon books change each time they send one out.
It pays to CAREFULLY read each coupon, both front and back, to see which
games/platforms qualify for each coupon, and for any exemptions, limitations, etc.
It astounds me how often really experienced players fail to do this. As for
myself, I recently bought a magnifying glass! I'm sure you've all noticed how
the print keeps getting smaller... :frowning:

I considered Brian's play of $2 single play. It has merit, assuming you
stop your play as soon as you get a quad. For the mailers I want, they
just aren't available for 100%-game players.

I had no idea the point multipliers didn't apply to video poker until
after I was done playing today.

Nowhere on the coupon does it say the point multipliers do not apply
to Video Poker. I looked at next weeks 3x coupon and it say "Available
on select machines only. Not valid on 100% or full pay machines".

Last week was a 4x multiplier and I played the NSUD $1/$2 3/5 play and
the points were multiplied. I was there yesterday using the 5x
multiplier. Next time I'm there (probably Sunday) I'll check and see
if they did add the points.

I did screw up on the extra 125 coins for a four of a kind.
I "assumed" (I know, never assume) that it did not apply to wild card
games...and I hit the deuces (twice actually). Good thing the coupon
doesn't expire until 4/30!

The 50-play penny 9/6 JoB, that's "technically" full-pay, though not
100%. Has anyone used the 3x or 4x for this? Does it work?

Only the 5X points coupons have the additional text on the front that states "Valid on Video
Reels and Reels Only," which I also didn't realize because I assumed that it would be the same
as the 3X and 4X points coupons. What's that saying about "assuming"?

I played the 5X coupon on Monday and the points were not there on Thursday, which is how I
discovered that my play wasn't eligible for the multiplier. Oh well, I would've put on the same
play as I always do, anyway, so no harm, no foul.

Best,
Bettie

Thanks Bettie, I'll look for the 5x coupon for next month...and toss
it...guess those points I added on Wednesday won't be multiplied

If video poker is excluded, the offer will explicitly state "reels and
video reels only".

FP, as defined at the Palms, indicates any machine which pays over
100%. There should be a sticker on the machine which indicates the
machine is excluded from promotions, some say "any promotions", the
10-7s say "many promotions"; I believe this is a typo.

In sum, what's going to be excluded from 3x and 4x coupons will be
10-7 DB, 10-7 DB progressive, FPDW, FP Joker Kings or better. NSUD and
9-6 Jacks are ok.

For us who are not perfect, occasionally we get "tricked."
With 8 coupons in the Palms book for multi-points, all of them looking quite similar, it was not surprising that some of us "experienced players" read one coupon very carefully but didn't notice that one out of 4 was slightly different.
