No Horseshoe Mailers for January

Boo Hoo! Double Boo Hoo!

At 5:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 2nd, I called the VIP office at
Binions. With the suspension of US mail until tomorrow, I wanted to verify when the
January letters/coupons had been sent.

When the voice apologetically said that no mailers would be sent out this
month, I didn't even extend to verify to whom I was speaking. Of late, locals
had been favoured by a system that included their cumulative "handle"/month
rather than the average one trip concept for visitors. The tier level was at
about $20,000 (40,000 points) .

Many of us , then, were receiving $800/month or $200/week. This, indeed, is
a disappointment but Binions as well as the Wynn, Silverton, and even the
Palms are month to month as they change their minds. Nothing in this VP business
is etched in stone. Hopefully, a low handle this month or a lot of clamouring
will motivate them to send out something.

For this reason, I was at Wynn's today downloading my bounceback but will not
give them my qualifying play for January until I've received their letter
about the middle of January for my December play. That way, I'll only get burnt
for 1 month unrewarded play should Wynn also do an about face from one month
to another.

lol, lol...maybe this is part of Binion's new 2007 resolutions regarding
their customers.

Sometimes, the stupidity pendulum swings both ways. Not having a
mailer or any kind of promotions, except the new player sign up, is
megastupid. You have to figure out a way to get people to come
through the door, and word of mouth just isn't going to cut it.

I know there have been some issues with the marketing department, and
it appears at times the MTR is still learning the casino business (as
opposed to the racino business, or having to compete), or maybe this
is a short-sighted way to save some bucks, with them, who knows? I
can't believe you won't see something for Feb, especially as none of
the locals have any reason to play there anymore.

If we are talking about Binions Las Vegas what about the triple points Monday through Thursday and the extra cashback for 20000 points on Saturday and Sunday. With full pay VP in 25 cent denomation they seem to be a good play downtown for locals and visitors.
