No dough, no go?

Or did everyone die of old age?
I haven’t been to Reno in a while (because Vegas) but I’m going to pickup a cruise voucher from Eldorado next month

Had a losing trip in January at Peppermill and Silver Legacy. No trip report…

At Silver, they were shuffling around the machine banks, some that hadn’t moved in 15 years.

My fave machines were often down with yellow crime scene tape. Circus was gutted, they haven’t even moved in any machines in the space where table games used to be. Sad. I’ve drifted next door to El D high limit for multi-line play.

Peppermill lowered my freePlay, a bit annoying…

Wanting to get some play in at Grand Sierra, ( $250/month freePlay offers), where the games are back to playable paytables. But I want to zoom forward with my coin-in there so I can get a host and all the goodies like limo, comped suites and meals from my comp balance like I get at Silver & Pepps.

Next booked trip is July - Silver is the host hotel for the annual Scrabble National Championships.

I like getting my suite comped for the five day tournament.

I’m delinquent on trip reports, gets weird that I’m the only one who does trip reports here or on vpFree.

And the photo download is still sporadically & glitchy.

Yeah - this place is a ghost town. I’ve posted some Tahoe questions in the past and never got replies.

Not exactly a ghost town. Kind of stagnant but still some lurking.

Well, Bev and I are in town this weekend. We lucked out with first class upgrades on the outbound American flight very early Sat am; we’re upgraded again on the way home for our red-eye return to Atlanta Monday night. (Travel is via Charlotte, NC).

Very much a “short & sweet” run – one day at Harrah’s Reno, two at Harrah’s Lk Tahoe.

Harrah’s Reno got off to a modestly sour start: not only weren’t we upgraded to a suite, but we were assigned the tiniest room at Reno we’ve ever suffered in a casino. Truly not much more than 1.5 feet of floor space surrounding the bed on each side. A couple of footstools for “furniture”. Forget about more than one person in the bathroom. I’m still astonished.

Turns out it was Diamond Renewal weekend. (Uh, two 7* here). That’s ok … I love the place all the same and it was for only one night. We got the best of the deal: nailed a $1 RF and held onto the whole enchilada plus another $400!

So, Sunday am we left early and headed to breakfast at the Nugget. I stopped playing there a couple of years ago, but I love Rosie’s (they have the best baked goods and we left with pastries for the next morning coffee in Lake Tahoe). Very satisfying breakfast, as always. (Sorry, but just not a fan of “tractor fare” at Hash House at Harrah’s Reno.)

Arrival at Harrah’s proved winning right off the bat: Upgraded to lake view suite at Harvey’s :). First day’s play has been kind and we’re up for the day. All very nice on the heels of a winning LV trip week before last (Bev nailed her first multi-line dealt royal!). I’m enjoying it while it lasts!

Headed back to the casino floor shortly …
