Nine Night Reno trip report long - part 3 of 3

Day 8-9 ( fri/sat ) Atlantis
Stayed and played at Atlantis. Room was Concierge tower on an upfront comp from my super star host Eden Moore. Received $200 in free play. Atlantis remains #1 on my Nevada list. Was on the 25th floor , right down the hallway from the Concierge room at ATL.

Atlantis Food: ( both on diets this trip so went easy on gormet rooms )
Concierge Breakfast is free and excellent
Cafe-Alfresco - salads and Pizza
Oyster Bar on the sky Terrace: Fish and chips was great as well as the sushi

VP - As usual, has one of the best selections anywhere. While the slot club is good, working closely with an executive host is the way to go !
* Sex and the city ( main floor and skyway )
* Dream card spin ( I think.... only good schedule was at quarter and above with 8/5 bonus ). They use to have 9/6 Jacks but no more.
* Spin poker ( if you hunt you find most of the spins have NSUD at 25C )
* Ult X/good times - nothing playable
* $1 10/7 progressive ( $4400 ) at waterfall bar [ Note - have never hit a royal at this bar for all the years that I've been coming ]
* 10C/25C 5 play multi-strike ( Nsud, 9/5 super double, 12/4 db deuces )
* 9/5 super double in 3/5/10/50 play all over the casino. ( 9/5 super double is king at Atlantis ). Many of these are close to 100% thanks to added bonus for dealt RF.
* nsud progressive & nsud triple / five play upstairs in sky terrace.
* 9/6 jacks super times play
* full pay loose deuces at locals carousel ( not too long as sparse points earned here )
* 12/4 DB deuces all over the casino. A good place to play this game is the sports bar and lounge which feature giant video displays.
* 25C 10/7 DB with $1200 royal progressive
* $1 9/6 jacks with $5600 royal. Went to bed at 2:30 AM, still packed with players, went down at 7AM to resume, somebody hit- ghost town time.
* super bonus deuces ( 15/10/4/3 ) at Locals carousel. What burns me up is that I got at least 20 5 kinds with one deuce throughout this trip yet never once while playing super bonus deuces...grrrrr.
* MS-super times pay with 9/6 bonus deluxe, 9/5 super double . There is only one of these and it gets a lot of play
* Spin poker deluxe with 9/7 triple double
* Super triple play machines ( with full pay jacks and super double double ). Hit AAAAJ for an $800 hand pay.
* Spin poker with Super times pay ( with 8/5 bonus poker the best play )
* 10 coin $ DDB with $11,000 RF.
* 9/5 triple bonus plus with $1300 RF. Doing well at this bar machine, wife calls me for Dinner, come back and could not get a seat. There was a convention in town and these people love to drink !

=====================

Other Stuff:
Internet: Free access
Players Club: Bizarre new systems, in which you must swipe your card daily to get maximum benefits. You are best off swiping your card at 12:01AM every day , no matter what to make sure your included in 2X/3X points or drawings for that day which runs to 11:59PM.

Music: The band was very lame . I was playing NSUD at the bandshell bar, but it was so bad had to quit.

Bowling Event at the Coconut bowl ( 250 Wild Island Ct , Sparks NV ):
Our host rounded up some of her best customers and sponsored a bowling event. We were transported to Sparks where We each played 3 games in various teams in our own private bowling party area, with catered food ( pizza and wings ) and unlimited drinks. It was a lot of fun, not so much for the bowling, but to meet and greet the other players and make some new friends.

A short walk to my favorite Nevada shoe store - 'A Proper Fit'
There is a really nice shoe store in the Burlington / Town hall mall across the street from Atlantis. A proper fit is not your cheapest place, but its full service and has a knowledgeable / caring staff. I got equipped with a pair of the latest Spira walking shoes with orthotics for $175. Well worth it since the vast majority of our NY shoe stores are staffed by ignorant sales staff who don't have the 45 minutes stick time with fussy customers like me . Since I'm an inveterate walker these guys knew more about shoes than I did and that impressed me to no end.

Airport: While wasting time hit 4 ducks on a 94.4% machine with 2 coins for $100...Yeah cab money !.

Conclusion: Well, another fab trip is over. I came home with the same cash as when I left. Not bad since I easily went through $1000 in Room and food , comps and tips. I'd like to read more trip reports from the Members of this group as we are all part of a team, and it would benefit everybody if we cut down on scouting time by naming plays and places. Of course , super plays should be coded into the report else management or pro's can shut these plays down in a heartbeat.
best wishes and more royals to all...Tom

You sure have a lot of fun-but that variety of games would give me a headache!
It is these 3/5 play NSUD that I am interested in for my upcoming (first ever to Reno) trip. Would you indulge me in the following questions?

1. How many machines are there and what denominations?
2. Where more exactly are they in the sky terrace-and where is the sky terrace?
3. Do the machines have the label "Deuces Wild" or are they called something else?
4. To the extent you can estimate, what is the comp rate for these machines on 1X days?
5. How does this Money Maker Jackpot thing actually work for VP players at Atlantis?
6. When scanning your card on multiple point days does the machine tell you something to the effect of "you are now receiving multiple points" or do you have to keep track yourself to make sure your not getting screwed?

Not if you have a professionally written universal cheat sheet like mine :slight_smile: perfected over the years, fits in my front pocket.

OK ....

1. How many machines are there and what denominations?

2 machines side by side upstairs in sky terrace 5C to 25C 1-15 coins per line - close to casino stairs down. These are not the progressive NSUD, those are downstairs near the cafe al-fresco.

2. Where more exactly are they in the sky terrace-and where is the sky terrace?

Sky terrace is the over-highway 2nd floor area of Atlantis. Quite Unique as you can play while over Virginia Street.

3. Do the machines have the label "Deuces Wild" or are they called something else?

you cant miss them - red glass plate IGT Deuces

4. To the extent you can estimate, what is the comp rate for these machines on 1X days?

I can only guess based on past experience
Mid range - As far as I know there are 3 comp ranges at Atlantis ( poor ... locals carousel, medium, and high ( 7/5 bonus, Ult - X, 9-6 DDB non progressive, slots, etc ).

5. How does this Money Maker Jackpot thing actually work for VP players at Atlantis?

If some body hits while your playing you get $25 - if you hit it ( totally random ) you get all.
PS - if somebody offered me a hot dog and a soda comp per day instead of Money Maker I'd gladly substitute.

6. When scanning your card on multiple point days does the machine tell you something to the effect of "you are now receiving multiple points" or do you have to keep track yourself to make sure your not getting screwed?

Yes... It does tell you you are now receiving 2X or 3X etc. If you deal exclusively with the slot club, you should also keep track - with a host its a bit different - there are quite a few tricks and tips on how to cultivate a host and consistently get over-comped. I'd consult with Jean Scott for more details.

Thank's for your prompt and complete answers.

Their Web site seems to not be updated often - it only shows July and August now. Is there any other way to find out this info ahead - like now for September?
