Nice Strip Hotels that are Cheaper......

Hey everyone,
I'm planning on making the trip to Vegas during the second week of
October. I was planning on staying at a nicer hotel like Mandalay
Bay, however, I'm now thinking of picking a cheaper hotel, and
upgrading my room to a suite (we'd really like a hot tub in the room).
Was hoping for some suggestions on where to stay on the strip, my
friend has never been and I'd like her to get the strip experience.
We both like VP and will be playing it more than anything else, but
there doesn't need to be great paytables for us to pick a place.
I've been thinking of the Luxor, they have Spa Suites, but am
interested in everyone's opinion! Maybe the Riviera or Flamingo???
Not really looking to stay at Excalibur or Circus Circus, something a
little nicer than that. Please give me some of your ideas!

Thanks,
Ian

The Luxor would be great. When I get a chance to stay on The Strip (I live in LV) I will head to the Luxor everytime. It is my favorite themed casino. They have 8/5 BP and last time I was there $ JB. If you want to do Mandalay Bay, there is the walk-thru called Mandalay Bay Shops, or the monorail. Have never had a Spa Suite, but based on regular rooms, it would be fine.

Stay away from the Riviera if you are trying to impress someone! We went there to sign up for the locals club. By the time we played off our free play and a little more we looked at each other and both said "Binion's On The Strip" at the same time - we do that a lot. Flamingo would be OK, too. The dreaded Harrah's has very nice suites with spa.

Hope your lady enjoys the stay!
Cheers!
Bonnie

Maybe the Riviera or Flamingo???

Ian.
Last year my brother got married at Flamingo and the suite they gave him was yucky! You would be better off at the Venetian, or Ceasars, Bally's had nice suites too. Oh yeah Harrahs has nice suites too.

Happy Gambling,

Liz

You may want to consider the Stardust. The suites there are nice, the Video Poker is good for a strip Hotel. I don't know if they have any suites with a
hot tub.

The Luxor spa suites can be a decent value, or at least could be. I haven't
stayed at the Luxor in several years. Located in the corners of the
Pyramid, it can be a hike to your inclinator. The large spa tub is located
in the bedroom on a platform near the window. The bathroom is typical of
other pyramid rooms, which is to say large, but utilitarian. The oddly
shaped separate sitting room contains TV, fridge, assorted chairs and
tables. Sorry, no pics. This was before my introduction to digital
photography. I would not describe the Luxor spa suite as posh digs, but
they could be fun.
