I just came from the casino, saw a woman hit a ten-handed pat royal with a bunch of 4X multipliers. It was only for nickels, so the total was $5000. Seems a little anti-climatic for such a nice hit. Not that I wouldn't bother to stoop over and pick up $5000 on the sidewalk, but still, for a 100,000 coin hit. It was in clubs. I wished I had my cell phone camera with me, but I didn't. I happen to know the machine and it's some crappy pay tables. But still, that was pretty cool. Little pat royals and multipliers all over the screen. Woohoo!
Nice hit on Ultimate X
Just after they put in the Ultimate X machines at the Eastside Cannery a couple of years ago, some lady playing ten-play DDB got a pat full house, which lit up all ten 12X multipliers, then got dealt a pat royal. She was playing .02 denomination, so each royal was worth $960–total, $9600. The E-Can's response was to immediately downgrade all the paytables on those machines. (For some reason, a dealt royal on a multi-line game gives existential angst to slot managers, so this one must have made rectums explode. "A TEN GRAND JACKPOT ON A TWO CENT MACHINE??? FIND THE BASTARD WHO BROUGHT THESE IN HERE AND HAVE HIS INTERNAL ORGANS RIPPED OUT!!!" "That was you, sir.")
