Reading the latest Casino Player I found some interesting tidbits:
1. Michael Flatley (Lord of the Dance) wants to build a $750 million
resort/casino in LV with an Irish theme and 2400 rooms. Hugh Hefners
company will build the spa and "leisure facility"(?).
2. MGM Mirage expects to build a $billion+ mega resort in LV (not AC)
on the site of their Boardwalk Hotel Casino.
3. The Palms just opened the "Hugh Hefner" suite ... $5000/nite on
weekends.
4. Mandalay Bay is trying to convince the Chinese govt to allow
direct flights from Beijing/Shanghai to LV.
5. MGM plans to replace their theme park (now closed) with luxury
condos in partnership with the Turnberry Condo people.

On a final note, I was in Palm Springs last week, and its starting to
look like LV without the strip ... casinos all over the place, in
every direction.

Palm Springs ... California or Florida? Around where I live (eastern side of U.S.), most folks usually mean Florida. Probably most folks on or near the west coast usually mean California. But since I don't know where you're posting from ...?

The last I was in Palm Springs, Florida, was about 4 years ago ... and they didn't have any casinos ... but then I don't keep up with what goes on down there and things can change fast. The last time I was in Palm Springs, California, was probably 25 years ago, and I was just passing through so I don't know whether they had casinos or not. I do hope you are speaking about Florida; I wouldn't mind making a trip back there, but probably wouldn't if it's all the way out in California.

Thanks for any additional info.

Cheers.

Palm Springs ... California or Florida?

Whoops, sorry about that. I meant California. Actually, the Palm
Springs, California "area" stretching from about 20 miles west of
Palm Springs all the way to Indio, about 25 miles southeast of Palm
Springs. All of them are Indian casinos including the new "Trump"
casino. Strange ... I didn't realize the Donald was a member of a
California Indian tribe! Just kidding! There didn't seem to be any
good VP in any of the casinos I visited, but I didn't have time to
check them all.
