News and Notes

Got this e-mail note from the Palms for "Name Your Rate Week":

I would expect anyone could use this.

If you cash a paycheck at the Fiesta's and receive a drink ticket, you
can now exchange it for 600 points instead if you wish.

Sam's Town is giving away USA Baseball Caps on Saturday, November 9th,
with select 4 of a kinds.

The Fiesta Rancho has a bank of the new Ten-Seven machines. Apparently
you are dealt 10 cards and select 7 to keep. Those cards are reshuffled
and distributed to make up 10 final hands. I have no other details.

El Cortez is offering double points on Tuesdays and Thursdays in
November. Triple on Thanksgiving.

Scot

Boy oh boy, I guess I better cancel all my plans and get
down to Sam's Town ASAP. But first I need to get a new ACE Ultimate
Rewards card so I can get that free cap.

I like this game and I know how to determine optimum play
without using a computer. One thing that I could not figure out
was the part where it says you get a bonus if you miss all the
Royal flush draws on your redraws. I swa no reference to the size
of the bonus. Anybody seen this happen and know what the bonus is?
To determine the overall return, however, one needs to know the
distribution of the various hand types. That DOES need a computer
program. Has anyone solved this or at least does anyone know the
return for this game with optimal play.

By the way, even if it is slightly positive, it is horrdly
slow and so the machines at the Fiesta Rancho are probably not as
lucrative as FPDW.

I got this same email offer and a second email offer from the Palms for $49 a night for the same week, Nov 24-27.

Both posted at the same time. Go figure!

Dennis

The pay schedules are as bad as any that I have ever seen.

As compared to what? Where? When? What schedules are best for this game?
