Before getting comfortable at regular DDB, played DDB M/S, hit a quad
w/ kicker on level 3 and got hooked! After reading articles for M/S
JOB and DB I know the strategy is different especially on Level 1 and
2. With the pressure to "qualify" I run into a dilemma with the high
cards (unpaired) and usually keep them all! Now for the dumb
questions: What is proper strategy at these levels for unsuited HC's?
Would you keep 4 unsuited HC (possible straight?), or 3 unsuited HC
and do you always just keep suited HC?
These are probably stupid questions to such an informed group but
would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!
Newbie ? DDB M/S
You are asking very "good" questions, as Multistike strategies are not
obvious. Straights and near straights are something that's avoided in
multistrike at the lower levels as the ultimate goals are to score big at
levels 3 and 4.
Thus for 9/6 DDB follow these MS guidelines:
Level 4: and free rides use normal 9/6 DDB strategy straight rules
Level 3: 4ST0 ( i.e. no gaps ) are allowed, all others are not except JQKA
1HC ( high card ) --> 4ST0( no high card )
Level 2: same as level 3 except don't hold JQKA ( if you get this hand only
hold JQK)
Level 1: No 4 ST of any kind ( exception TJQK )
1HC --> 4FL ( with no high cards ) --> 4ST0( no high card )
I hope this clears up some MS straight strategy issues. Note the arrow -->
means "is better than"

Thanks for the "good" answers. Now I have a question about 2 PAIRS -
know to always keep only AA, but why not KK, JJ, QQ (& discard low
pair)? They qualify to go up another level, pay the same as 2PR and
have possibility for trips and/or quads. IMHO, DDB is essentially
quad-driven, so why not enter this factor into the strategy?
