Was that July '97? :slight_smile: The 3rd $.25 9/6 JOB disappeared from Trump

Trump Marina reportedly also has $.25, but I'm really not familiar
with their inventory. Claridge is, by far, the most readily

available

play - but the hotel is the pits relative to the rest of the

boardwalk.

By the way, mid-week (Sun.-Thur.) room comps are relatively easy to
get in AC. Established players get regular offers. Even new

players

who book a room can generally get it comped the next morning with a
call to a host after $6K-$8K play.

Barring that, the Showboat (now owned by Harrah's) is offering

midweek

rates of $39 on most dates and you don't even have to give them any
play (although they hope you do).

Weekends, of course, are a different matter. But when I can manage
it, I prefer a Sunday/Monday stay. The crowds thin considerably
Monday, especially in the winter, and machine availability improves
greatly. You just have to be careful not to stumple over the canes

of

the senior bus patrons :slight_smile: (no offense intended!)

Well, someone's been digging back in the archives. The post
"yomartman" chose to echo without comment was from January 2002.

Let me give you an update on that report that should give you an idea
about general AC trends:

The Showboat is now a vp wasteland. I don't survey the place since
it's at the end of the Boardwalk and not worth the walk, but I don't
think they even have 8/5 BP these days.

I think Claridge has since dumped their last 9/6 JB.

$.25 9/6 at Trump Plaza is pulling a very gradual disappearing act.
They had 3 such machines ages ago (3+ yrs?), then there were 2, and
then a few months ago they pulled another so there's just one now.

There are those who fear that darker days are ahead, but every now and
then there's a brief glimmer of hope for the AC vp inventory.
