New Year's Eve Dilemma

I do not know if this effort will have any results. This
is my dilemma. I am treating some friends to New Year's in
Las Vegas. Last year I stayed at Caesar's Palace from Dec
30th to Jan 4th. This was my first New Year's experience
on the strip and I thought that would be the only time.
However, we have decided to treat some good friends who never
would be invited and cannot afford the New Year's rates.
I received two nice New Year's offers and reserved both for
Dec 29th registrations and January 1st departures. I will
check in to both casinos and give my friends one of the 3
night stay. I am not sure which is the best offer, but that
does not matter to me.

Offer #1 Paris--"Paris Las Vegas cordially invites you to
welcome the New Year by spending four days and three nights
in complete luxury. After you've donned your finest attire,
make your way down to a celebration created purely for your
enjoyment. Dinner will be sheer magnificence, created through
months of effort and planning by our world-renowned chefs.
Entertainment will be nothing short of electrifying.
Experience the energy of NRF as they keep you moving until
the evening's final moment."

Offer#2 Planet Hollywood--"Let there be Fame as Planet
Hollywood Resort & Casino unveils the ultimate night of
celebration. New Year's Eve 2007 Ring in the New Year with
the sounds of the LA All-Stars for the Planets hottest party.
Your ultimate package includes: - Three complimentary nights
stay - Two tickets to our exclusive party - Two tickets to
the New Year's Day Champagne Brunch.

Okay, here is the problem. Even though the casinos are
across the street from each other, on that particular night
will seem like miles away. Separate parties is the best
I can offer them, but we certainly would like to celebrate
together. Are any readers attending either of these 2 parties?
It is a long shot, but would anyone be will to take either of
my two party offers in exchange so we could be a group of 4
at one party? The above description is all the details I know.
I would be happy to let you select whichever party you would
like in order that we could be with our friends that night.

This request may seem both unusual and a long shot, but
it is worth a try. I have tried to get 2 more invitations
comped, but so far no luck. You can pick the best party and
obviously this will only work with someone invited to one of
these parties. I am guessing that the quality of each party
may be similar. I am a 7* at Harrah's and I also have the
top A-List Platinum Card at Planet Hollywood.

I know this is an unusual request. If a trade is not
possible, I would also appreciate any opinions on these two
parties. I would like to give the best party to my friends
if such information is available.

Thanks,

Bob

You have asked so nicely, sir, that I hope someone will step forward
to help you out. I have Harrahs and NYNY but neither of those work.

You may have a preference but don't want to state it. The Paris event
sounds more elegant, the PH a little wilder and crazier. Harrahs is
trying to duplicate that with a similar choice of two event styles.

At least your invitations sounded classy. The Green Valley Ranch
simply promised "an evening of celebration exquisite cuisine and
heart-felt toast" etc. typed on a single sheet of white paper. Not
exactly what would get the old adrenaline pumping for New Year's like
your tempting invites.

Bob -- I wish you would've asked a couple of weeks ago. I have Paris
booked and already gave the room and party to someone else (we'll be
at Silverton, leaving on NYE before any festivities). I sure hope
someone will come forward for you. Celebrating separately wouldn't be
much fun!

npf -- I have an invitation from GVR. It's a gold fold out invitation
with a black sheet in the middle containing gold writing. It has info
for a party at 7pm at the Grand Events Center with steak and lobster
dinner followed by dancing with the Classy 1's and a 9pm East Coast
celebration. Is that the same info you have?

Thanks for your response. My only preference is that all four
of us are together that night. I am guessing your description
might be fairly accruate. The four of us might best fit in a
party somewhere between the two!

Thanks for the response. At first I was waiting for my
local Harrah's host to get me 4 tickets to the Paris party.
He said he knew someone at the Paris! The answer took a while
but was negative and I was a little surprised by that answer.

I just recently thought of this swap possibilty and your response
was generous and kind. I am providing them with a great New Year's
so nobody will be complaining. I am comped for golf at Rio Secca
on the 30th and sharing my celebration dinner with them at the
Eiffel Tower that evening. So all is not bad. I was just hoping
someone had the same offer at one of the two parities, but would
prefer one of mine over the other. As you said, probably too late!
