Now that's a good point. I have a half-price coupon (one entree off) for
Carmel at the Rampart and I want to ask for a comp for the other half - that's

It's legit to ask - but it depends on the casino. Sometimes they pull a "coupon offer not valid in combination with any other offer:" - and they consider a comp another offer. On the whole I have usually been able to give them the coupon first and then when I have the new "amount owed," I say to put this on my room charge - or tell them to take that amount off my points - whatever the circumstances. Over the years I have probably saved thousands of dollars of comps with this little trick. Brad just laughs at me now when I try to "save comps" - he says we can't live long enough to use all the comps we have in our comp banks now. But I have always "saved for the future" since I was a little girl with my first allowance - it's hard to change one's natural personality! I figure we won't starve in our old age even if our bodies - or our minds - no longer allow us to play VP!
