Many years ago, I was bowling in a tournament where everyone bowled "X"
number of games, then there was a cut to the top 25% into one-on-one elimination
match play. While the tournament managers were calculating the cut score, one
of the bowlers keeled over out of his chair of a heart attack (he did survive
it). The bowler who drew him in the first round got a "bye" and the event
continued with nary a hiccup.
