new video poker machines on an Illinois Riverboat

I have been frequenting an Illinois riverboat with 9/7DB for quarters
in the last 4 months these machines have been changed out for new
machines with both slot machine type games and 9/7 DB. Does this mean
that these new machines are not random in the way they deal the cards
or are VLTs?

Sincerely,
Tabrc

No, the two are not related. Lots and lots of multi-game machines
with "real" video poker also contain various slot games, or the
dreaded "Caveman Keno". The inclusion of slot games in the same box
with VP does not at all imply that the video poker is non-random. It
depends on the regulations of the state. I'm fairly certain that
Illinois has regular Nevada style video poker, but perhaps someone
more familiar with that state's regulations will confirm.

Illinois does have Nevada like video poker regulations. I checked a while back when I was traveling to Illinois a lot.

I don't know about 9/7 DB in Illinois, but casinos in East St.Louis
and Rock Island have a 99.79% version of 10/7 DB (239 for quad fives
thru kings and straight flushes. The Majestic Star which is almost in
Illinois has 9/7 DB in several denominations.

The Casino Queen, in East St. Louis, IL had a bank of quarter
9/7DB machines the last time that I was there (in Septemeber).
That is the only decent quarter VP bank in the house, so they
can be a tough ticket.

BTW, E. St. Louis, IL, governed by IL casino law (N/S) is just
a few minutes away from downtown St. Louis.

Despite the name, East St. Louis IS in IL.

The 10/7DB (239 non-bonus quads AND SF) is only offered in the $1
denom.

The machines on the 9/7DB quarter bank pay 250 for both non-bonus
quads and the SF. At least they DID 5 months ago.

Yes I know ESL is in Illinois (I spent an interesting evening there
years ago --- in the first bar I've ever encountered with a metal
detector protecting its front entrance). I didn't know the Casino
Queen had .25 9/7 DB.
