Avoid them in the future and let them know why with a cc of the letter to the state attorney general and the dept of consumer affairs. Also, when your CC bill comes, dispute the charge unless they told you about it when renting the vehicle. Witht he new expanded CAT airport-downtoen frequencies on the #108/#109 and the connection with the #109 at the SST to the #301/#302 strip service, dump the renting altogether

Subject: [vpFREE] NEW RENTAL CAR SCAM
Date: Sun, 31 Oct 2004 00:06:55 EDTAdvantage rent a car is tacking on a $2/day "highway assistance fee". It
doesn't show up when you book it like taxes and facility, and is in addition to
the confirmed rate. Apparently, Advantage figures that their maintence is so
shoddy that you'll need a tow-in.Fortunately, CA is one of the more consumer-friendly states so I suppose once
I complain to Dept of Consumer Affairs, it'll come off pretty fast.Since most consumers are now wise to the CDW rip-off, the rentals are looking
for new scams.Comments please, Bill Velek, on the class action merits of this new scam?
Rick
