New Player Levels

Seven Stars at Harrah's is yours for $1 million in action/year. Seven
Stars is way better than Sachem from the offers my 7* friends get.

MS is primarily a "locals" casino compared to HET properties and as such
doesn't need to offer the same enticements to get people to travel there.
That said - I have been Seven Stars since it started. Harrahs bases their
offers strictly on your daily trip average and not what card you have. Since
Harrahs has trashed their good video poker (especially allowing no bonus points
and setting the theoretical at half the actual loss on 9/6 JB) my daily trip
average has dropped from over $6,000/day to $700/day. This was with over
$600,000 played in the last 9 months. Right now, my offers are bad and I have
moved my play away from HET properties. To me right now, HET is bad cashback,
lousy comps (run $1 million thru to get $1,000 in comps which you have to use
to pay for everything other than rooms) and bad offers. Caesars has my
primary Vegas casino for years and it is sad to see what Harrahs has done to it.

Your 7star offers are dissapointing.
The changes in the 7 star lounge program have little effect on my
California friends. They are not big lounge lizards. I know they like
the free internet access in the lounges.
These folks get really good offers for tournaments, gift cards, and
bounce back. Offers worth $1K at least every month. I'm being
positive figuring the offers they are getting will soon be offered to
East Coast 7 star members. I thinking positive because I'm heading to
Mohegan on Friday night for $325 free play between $250 Sachem wife
and Sagamore me. Sweet!

I'm going to shoot for Wolf status. Teresa has no chance of
maintaining Sachem status based on previous posts. :frowning:

VP1040 has put the HET 7 star program in a nutshell. Your Calif.
friends are getting these offers based upon trip theo not 7 star
status. As a 7 star player I am also rethinking whether the tier is
worth it for exactly the same reasons that VP 1040 states.
My diamond status GF gets better offers than me because when she
does go to play she runs through about 50% more coin than I do .

I spoke with my host yesterday...I am apparently a "Y" status on Sagamore, which gives me $49 Sat, $69 Sun. I would be the level above(highest Sag free rooms always) if not for 1 trip, but was told i will be upgraded after another "normal" trip/beating.

My Total Coin In trailing 12 Months is $798,000...However I did not start playing at mohegan until September 07 so It is truly a trailing six month Number. Also this got me just shy of 6500 points. Went last night and got another 250 points so my Total now is about $835K. I was told that I am about 15% less than Minimum Sachem qualification. We'll see if I get the Sag upgrade.

As a reference, my friend who is Sachem Wolf has about $4.5MM coin in (about 30,000 pts since Jan 1st) year to date 2008. Needless to say he is in the Top 3 of all slot players at mohegan.

Also interesting to Note that I am down about $28K after hitting 6 royals (all for $4K) in the span of six months, and my friend is up about $30K after hitting 8 royals of $30K, $30K, 20K, 20K, 10K, 10K, $6400, $4K. Imagine what our losses would be without this AMAZING string of Royals...OUCH.

Best of Luck

So this is what's confusing about the Sun. I have maybe 10% of
your coin-in and they will give me a room for $59/any day of the
week.

I just got downgraded from Sachem to Sagamore with the newest six-month
card in today's mail. Earlier I received the Sachem printed offer of
all free room nights in April, so something changed during the last
week. Suprising since my recent play was heavier than during the
initial Sachem period, and I've been getting pounded, dropping about
$3K per week for the last six weeks. Plus I've been getting extra
rooms for friends who play slots and drop their share.

Unless there is a reason to visit Mohegan, like an interesting show or
promotion, I'll play elsewhere. Mohegan is now just another casino. I
get more bang for the buck in Vegas or Reno, and more variety in the
playable video poker.

I agree....
Cutting the point rate and "comps" (theo, etc), upping the requirement for sachem, AND
giving out fixed monthly offers suggests to me that I should limit my play. Translation: I'm
going to keep my play low enough so that the free-play or free points is about 1 - 2% of my
coin in, to make up for the drop in everything else. That means if I get 1000 pnts a month,
I'll play 50 to 100K that month if I play at all. My guess is that the MS folks think (if they
think about this at all) that by increasing play requirements they will entice people to play
more despite a drop in points rate. I doubt it-- but we'll see. I can certainly understand the
experiment they are doing, however.

How do you think they are paying for the massive expansion and free
slot play offers ?
