I don't know WHAT the marketing dept. came up with,
but they sure printed up some NICE new 6' x 7' glossy pcards
advertising the new 'higher' cb rate at $1 per 200 pts.

What they DON'T tell you is that it is now a cb OR comps only club!

That effectively shorts the players (I think).

I didn't check, but I think it is still about $3 or $4 on vp per pt,
with slashed comps.

Only cb pts, so I get about $1 per $600-800 or .16 - .125%??

ALSO - ALL OTHER PROMOTIONS related to those midweek tournaments
(used to be 20 pts up from 10 pts daily) AND C.O.D. promos CANCELLED
for rest of OCTOBER!

Guess we'll have to wait until NOVEMBER newsletter to see what will
be available for vp players....

So far - it doesn't look good.

ALSO - I was told to get a 'comp' slip from the slot club to use up
my 'comp' acct. balance;
eventually that will go to 'zero' when you do this,
and then you can use your 'points' for the player specials in cafe.
(i.e. - like the $2.50 lunch special with player pts).

So in effect - I think the 're tooled' new cb pts is CB or COMP pts
ONLY (and players lose out as it was cb AND comps before, as are MOST
of the clubs up and down the River...)....

If anyone has more insight on this, let us ALL know,
as I'm not quite 'monthly free' yet (3000 pts min).
Very close though. But I may not pursue it if economy
and marketing has decided to 'cutback' vs being competitive with
other properties.

PS - THEY are remodeling the whole left-side FRONT facade,
and most of the BACKSIDE of the bldg. NOt sure if it was due to
termites, or a planned re-modeling.
The big lighted LETTERS (P-I-O-N--E_E_R) are sitting outside the Cafe
windows, and part of the wall is torn open too, maybe more insulation
being put in there??)??

That is wild. I had a weird feeling. I have been a Cowpoke (old tiered card
level) since August 1995 at the Pioneer. I hope they don't have to board up
(or torch) the joint.

I am still waiting for the October Round-up, guess I just better look forward
to a November one. I did get the letter for Cowboy Bob's blackjack tourney
for the first week of December.

Comps were 1/4% and cashback 1/12% two months ago, a base 1/3% card. It is
the Getaway nights that keep me playing there (maybe a tasty beer or two also).
I will see if they a honoring their expanded special Getaway offer for
October.

So no COD for the last week of October and no $3k in drawings on Halloween?
Cash strapped!

I wonder how much the land on the Strip has been devalued? Archon Corp
(parent company) owned the Wet and Wild spot on the north Strip.

Good Luck, Pioneer!
