In the new area that opened today, there is a bank of quarter
progressive multistrikes. Undoubtedly due to carelessness, the top line
royal was set at $16,000. All of the games are in the 97-98% range so
the games are not positive even with the double royal, but if anyone is
feeling lucky, give it a shot. They may have caught it
already, but they will certainly catch it when the first one hits.
Can anyone explain how to calculate the added EV and variance of this?

Interesting. I was of the impression that under normal circumstances
the top line royal contributed about .5% of a total 2% RF MS return in
most games.
I would have expected that doubling the top line royal would add
another .5%, even without any strategy modification.

2% is .25.

That possibly works if the royal on the top level pays the same as on
the other levels. However, it pays 8x as much as the 1st level.
I work it out that the royal hit for each standard MS level returns
roughly .5%. If the royal on the top level is doubled, that level RF
now contributes 1% to the game return (+.5%).
On the other hand, I have to own up to my head being a little
off-kilter (only explanation for a couple of my posts as of late 
If I'm mistaken, do me a favor and lay out the contribution of the RF
to total game return, level by level.

I can't explain the calculations, but I wonder if this is a 10 coin per
line machine, and not a 5 coin? I read somewhere that someone saw a 20
coin per line regular MS machine, so the royal might be set right. -
