Hello, Danton, and welcome to our little group.
I'll let others speak to the CB and comps for the Detroit and WIndsor
venues. As for the VP, if smoke-free ambience is truly important to you then you'll
have to repeatedly deal with the onerous border crossing hassles to visit
Windsor. However, you can hit Greektown and not only find full-pay PickEm in
just about any denomination you like, but they've also got your 9/6 JoB in
many denoms as well. Check the database.

Hello,
I just wanted to quickly post and introduce myself. I'm new to
playing vp in the Detroit area and am working on mastering Pick'Em
since it seems to be the best game around. I used to play JoB in
Atlantic City some, but since moving to Michigan I've mainly played
live poker (and most of that on the internet).
My interest in video poker was reignited after a recent trip to Las
Vegas. I hit my first Royal on a $1 machine, which was obviously a
highlight of the visit.
Sadly, it seems that I left my good luck in Vegas. Even though the
Pick'Em strategy is fairly simple, my first major session at Casino
Windsor was a disaster--a loss of 2000 coins in 3300 hands! Needless
to say I didn't hit quads, but I also fell far short on straights,
flushes, full houses, etc. Bob Dancer's strategy sheet warns that "in
a very unlucky day's play of 5,000 hands, you can expect to lose
2,500 or more coins." Knowing that and experiencing it, however, are
two very different things.
I like Casino Windsor because it is nice and smoke-free, but tunnel
costs and border delays may lead me to look elsewhere. One important
factor in my decision as to where to focus my play will be cash back
and comps. Can anyone tell me what kind of bounce back cash CW offers
in addition to instant cash back? I've read it might be around 0.1%,
but I'd welcome any information based on actual experience.
I look forward to learning more about vp offerings in the Detroit
area and meeting members of this group!
Best, Danton
