Great news all of you out in VP Land. In a wonderful stroke of "Genius" the new marketing director at Harrahs Rincon came up with the following strategy to bring in more business at my local Harrahs. In a matter of two, perhaps three days, they managed to reduce the pay schedules on every full pay (or near full pay) machine on the casino floor. I didn't bother to look in high limit as I stomped out of the place. Did, however, complain to any and all who would listen. There was a coupe who had driven to Rincon from Arizona because they had heard of the very good VP play there. When they over heard me having a "discussion" with a slot tech they immediately went to check out to go home. The keeper of the machine inventory for VP FREE can consider changing the list at Rincon with the exception of the sole three old bonus poker only machines that remain at 8/5 for dollars and twos. I say consider the change as it will take a machine by machine check. I noticed two like machines side by side where one had 7/5 Bonus (dollars) that paid 1/1 on two pair. The other had 6/5 with 2/1 for two pair. I didn't take the time to go to every machine in the house. All of the pay scheds I refer to are for dollars. Less than dollars is, of course, much worse.
JOB 7/5
DDB 8/5
Bonus 6/5
Deuces 4oak down to 20, 5oak 8
I think DB remained at 9/6
Every casino in the area still has full pay in abundance. That's PALA, Valley View, even little Pauma has better scheds. Rincon did this in 2008 and ended up shooting themselves in the foot. However, I've heard that Rincon is doing better than any of the LV properties, which, if true, can't be left alone, can it? I am 7*. I called my host and told him I can no longer play there when there are so many better games within a few miles. For what it's worth, he was sympathetic.
