I can vouch first hand for the new at-ti-tude at Mohegan Sun about the hotel
rooms. I have cut back on my daily loss limit somewhat this year, but still
earned enough points to maintain Wolf status. I still manage to "donate" at
least $500 a day, any time I am there.(Instead of the former $800 to $1000.)
It is about an 8 hour trip from where I live in Maine and so I don't get
there every month. When I do go, I like to stay at least 4 nights, since I
arrive late on the first night and have to wrap things up rather early on the last
night. In the past, this was no problem. But I guess now I don't give them
quite as much money, they will only make the reservation for 3 nights. Then I
have to call after I play for a day or two and ask if I can stay longer and
they tell me they will base their decision on my level of play. (They have
always said "yes".)
I consider this a very tacky way to run a business. They could at least
"fake it" like they value me as a customer and not treat me like some kind of
walking wallet. I would prefer to pay a reduced rate for the room and be
guaranteed the reservation instead of being treated this way. It is difficult to
make plans when you don't know how long you will be staying somewhere.
First the change in the point structure, now this. Playing at M.S. is
becoming less and less attractive to me.
