new Laughlin visitor

Hi all. My wife and I will be in Laughlin for the first time as a
side trip from Phoenix around the end of September. I have been to
Vegas maybe 6 times over the years, but know practically nothing
about Laughlin and just joined this group today for some advice. We
both play quarter FPDW video poker and I like some 2 deck
blackjack. Any suggestions on where to stay or play? I'm not sure
if we would play enough for comps to matter. Also any thing else we
should know?

Thanks a bunch!

Gee no one has any opinions about Laughlin?!? My wife and I would appreciate your thoughts.

Ok, OK, You twisted my VP arm.

You should also read the archives.

Since you like FPDW, the Edgewater and River Palms each have plenty. Riverside has two slow progressive FPDW. These are all 25c machines.

We like both the EW and RP the best for FPVP. They have been generous with room and food comps after you are established tho. Never had much luck with casino host in Laughlin. We get monthly offers from EW and RP. Occasional offers from some of the others.

You can take the river walk to get to most of the casinos or you can take the water taxi. Be prepared for the heat. Laughlin is hotter than LV or Phoenix. Rooms are generally of average quality. We have stayed more often at RP then followed by EW.

Welcome to Laughlin! I think you'll enjoy it.

You don't say where you are staying, but for the games mentioned, I
would play VP at Edgewater and 2DBJ at the Flamingo. Edgewater is
fun when they have Elvis or the singing cowboy spinning the Big Six
Wheel, and there are a bunch of FPDW near the Lounge where you can
hear the performers in there. Flamingo has no FPDW, but I have
played 2D there for a few hours and scored enough comps for the
whole weekend. Make sure you get a card and ask to be rated. Comps
and cashback you rack up on the One Card from Edgewater (and
Colorado Belle) can be held in your account until you want to use
them, and you can do so at any of their properties, including LV.
At least that's the case now: who knows what will happen after the
MGM merger?

Have a great time! Many Royals to you.

Drew

If FPDW is your game, probably the Edgewater is the place. They have
the most inventory, and you should not have a problem to find two of
those machines together. Don't rule out some similar games such as
Loose Deuces, and NSUD. These can be found at the bars at the
Edgewater, and also at the sister property Colorado Belle. Rooms in
Laughlin are nothing too fancy, so don't set your expectations too
high. You will find rooms and food cheap, and very good gambling
condtions. ---Not a bad combination in my book. Have a great trip.
