The last time Harrahs said they where going to concentrate their
future golf play at El Rio and AVI's Mohave. I am not sure which
course this time, but I hope it is AVI since I have not played
there. This is going to be my fourth. So far it has been Laughlin
Ranch, El Rio and Desert Shores folf courses.
The first time I got a food card at the Belle it was a complete
surprise. As I said in an earlier post, I did not know there was any
type of food card at the Belle. I just knew my rooms were getting
nicer on each trip. First we got river view in the towers. Later we
moved to "The Boat", then we got to the river side of the boat. We
personally joked each trip how we kept moving up floors and
eventually to the top (F Deck). This is the top "non-smoking"as the
G Deck is a smoking deck! The last stop was river view suites.
Again, I do not consider myself a hugh gambler and only play video
poker. Maybe it has all been a mistake!
The first time I received a food card they asked me if I want "one"
or "two" cards. I thought 2 must be better than 1, so I brightly
said "two". I did not know what the cards were and did not realize
they meant 2 names on on one card, or two separate cards. I also
remembering thinking it was good only once. What a pleasant surprise
when they gave me my card back! Each time I am just pleased to get
it.
We really have not abused the card. It is not that we are so nice,
it is just that there is usually other food around town and sometime
the Diamond Lounge is all we need. On this trip, Harrahs has a golf
pairing party with what they like to call "heavy hors d'oeuvres" and
a banquet on Sunday. Although not an intimate and "personal setting,
sometimes these banquets have good food. I guess I must not be too
fussy. I also have 2 free "entrees at Baja Blue that expire 5/31.
Of course, any play at the Nugget or Pioneer gives you food comps and
I know I have some bank at these casinos. We do not use many now
that we have the Belle cards. At the River Palms it is also easy to
get cheap daily food. I think the Ramada has some of the least
expensive cash prices, but I think earning food comps there are
tougher. So while we really enjoy the "white card" we do not use it
much.
However, I would say it is nice to use the "white card" at the
Orleans and Mark Twain rooms and not give the menu prices a thought!
When I played golf with Curtis Jacks, the General Manager, he
mentioned that he hopes perks like the food cards remain. Now that I
think of it, maybe we should really "pig out" this possible last
time". I am sorry to hear that our times in Laughlin this trip will
not match.

will stay at the Belle because of the comped food card I expect.

I would be nice to visit and say hello to any members around this
weekend. The problem with double rooms is the double play obligation
that I feel is required to maintain status. Obviously this means
double risk and more luck is needed for everything to work out!

As they say for HET no play is better than a little play. I blew
off play several times the Spring/Summer of 2005, after doing DinaD
in Jan/2005. I got abundant mail for six months...all the outdoor
concert offers and $25k slot and VP tourneys through October (Bill
Cosby). YMMV.
For the CB it has been documented that one very strong play day is
good enough even though you stay multiple nights. So what you going
to pig out on with that White card?
So what course do you get to play this time?
