I am "Futrend Bob", but there is at least one other Bob who posts
information on this site. Futrend was the name of a company that I
started and I simply still use that name at times as an identifier.
I certainly go by the name of Bob or Robert as a personal
preference. I like personal names, when possible, not Futrend,
Hamstockman or Grayleegray.
I am sorry to say that our trips this time will not match. You one
of the great contributor to this site and I hope that sometime in the
future our trips will match. My wife is a teacher and has to be at
work Tuesday (her last week). We will need to leave Monday
afternoon. I have met "Grayleegray". I do not know if he remembers,
but I gave a spare ticket to the Colorado Belle's Super Bowl party in
January 2006.
The people that I treat are friends. Some are on a limited budget,
but help us out in many ways. Last week my wife had to take an
personal emergency trip to Wisconsin. I decided to take a trip to
Barona and Rincon. Our friends kept our outdoor vegetables alive and
that is not easy to do in the Phoenix area at this time of the year!
This is a little payback, but they are simply someone we can depend
upon so it is really a "no brainer".
We like to travel with others, and yes, they will offer to share the
gas. It was no big thing in the past, but now things are different!
Sometimes they have they own offers (mid week), but I can usually
guarantee them a comped room anytime somewhere in Laughlin. Under
the assumption that I will have the Belle's white food card, I plan
to also give them any remaining comps before June 1st. Since one also
earns more comps while there, we will probably have a nice dinner
just before leaving on Monday. Being a holiday, I hope the Orleans
Room is open.
Gas is usually reasonable in Kingman, but I do not think I would
drive that direction just for gas. Of course it is on the way from
Arizona. About a month ago gas was about the same price as Kingman
at the Bullhead City's Sams Club. The highest I have recently paid
was $3.50 at the Barona's convenience store. I asked someone there
with a California plate and he said in the San Diego area the best
was around $3.37. I had no choice about gas since I was empty
because of traveling from Phoenix to Barona. I was now heading to
Escondido (Rincon). I guess I could have looked around Ramona which
is on the way.
Just in case, I am going to play some of the old FPDW, even though a
few will remain at River Palms.
Thanks for everything,
Bob

Hey Bob. I just booked a trip to the Belle next week. I will arrive
on Tuesday 5-28, and I plan to stick around for the changing of the
locks ceremony on June 1st, and the handing of the keys to Mr. AM #3
at the EW and CB. Are you leaving before Tuesday? If you will be
around perhaps we can set up a BWOC (bring your own comp) dinner.? I
know Graytleegray is also planning on a trip in this time frame, but
I do not want to speak for him. I wanted to play the extinct machines
one more time before they are thrown out.
You sure support a lot of people on your trips to Laughlin. I hope
they at least pitch in for gas money. Speaking of gas, can I buy any
gas in the area for under $3.00/gallon? The going rate here in
Northern California is $3.50/gallon.
Anyone else in town?

will be playing in a Harrah's golf tournament on Sunday. I have
rooms at both Harrah's and the Colorado Belle for Friday, Saturday
and Sunday nights (donating one of the rooms to friends). We
probably will stay at the Belle because of the comped food card I
expect.
