Great column this week, Jean!
We didn't have the problems you did getting the Tranquility Fountains (we
picked up ours at Santa Fe rather near the evening deadline), but they
didn't last long at our house. The motors were louder than the fountains
themselves (and the motor sound was not particularly tranquil), and our
fresh batteries went dead on them overnight. The next day we tranquilly put
the fountains in the trash.
