New Headgear/CB promos/Rumors

That is the rumor that I want to happen. Boyd has taken care of me downtown
for a couple of years. I wanted them to get the Flamingo-L, but nope.

I wanted Pinnacle to beat out Columbia-Sussex for Ramada Express, but nope.

I think Boyd would make a fine edition to the Laughlin ownership. I can't
imagine MGM/Mirage for the long term for CB/EW. After all they bailed out on
the Golden Nugget not too long ago.

It sounds like you are zero for two on your predictions and wishes so
far. Rumors, rumors, rumors are just that. Who knows what is really
going on in the deal rooms? I have heard and read about the EW and CB
being for sale. We have one big clue that this is happening, as they
have announced that the Laughlin properties and Circus Circus in Reno
will not be converted over with the new slot system. They will
operate their own system. I have read that they really want to sell
the Jean properties, Circus Circus in Reno, and both Laughlin
properties. The Reno paper has written about this, so I believe there
is something going on here. Boyd taking over? Sounds good to me, but
there could be some unknown group come out of nowhere like the
Harrah's offer and make a deal. If you really want Boyd to take over
the CB/EW, put on your red ruby slippers and click the heels three
times- that has worked in the past.

Well heck, Boyd sounds good to me too, then.

I too wanted Pinnacle to get the Ramada. They own Boomtown in Reno
(among other places) and has some of the most enjoyable BJ and
favorable BJ rules in Reno.

As for the Flamingo/Aquarius, time will tell I guess. Two weeks ago
when I was in Vegas I had occasion to drop into Arizona Charlie's
(Decatur) a couple of times, leaving for and returning from Red Rock
Canyon. It maybe wasn't the prettiest casino but then again I walked
away with some extra cash in my pocket playing VP so it left me with a
good feeling.
