New Hacienda(Boulder Dam Lodge)

Anyone checked out the VP after Dotty’s took over and

well on the 100.65 KBJW. There were 4 slant tops- are

they still there?

Someone just reported to vpFREE2.com that they couldn’t find

any of the good games that used to be at the former Hacienda,

now the Hoover Dam Lodge.

I haven’t been there yet, but it is run by Dotty’s — and Dotty’s represents a significant part of my gambling — but the good games (like NSU) are only for $1 and higher. (Slot club + promotions + mailers move the play very nicely into positive territory.)

If the scouts here are only looking at 25c machines because that’s what they usually play, it’s no wonder they think there are no good games there. Also if the scouts are only looking for over-100% games before including the slot club and other goodies, again it’s no wonder they think there are no good games there.

I will answer my own question-A VP Waste land, at the 25 cents level. I visited last week.
Answer to Bob- everyone has different goals- as a visitor I am unable to reap any benefit in today’s VP envirornment unless it is full pay. No welfare checks or mailers for non-locals. However comp or very cheap rooms are still available for the asking if one pushes 5K daily thru, even with quarters at 100+.

I appreciate the report of what is not there anymore but it would be nice to have some local go out there and report what they do have. For instance, I was out there over a year ago, and I remember some 10-coin progressives (25-cents) that had games like 7-5 BP and 9-5 DDB if I remember correctly. Are those gone? Is there any 8-5 BP in the place, at any denom? Is there $1 NSU, like at other Dotty’s? There’s got to be something there worth reporting. I am in California so don’t expect me to run out there anytime soon but I would think we shouldn’t have to wait months for someone local to give us a detailed report. And what about players club info? There’s been no change reported at vpfree2. Are they still operating like Hacienda or is it a carbon-copy of Dotty’s? I’m sure a lot of people would like to know. Where are all the scouts? C’mon, it ain’t THAT far out there.

A supervisor at Dotty’s who also works half time at the new casino told me that half the place is EXACTLY like Dotty’s — same games, same slot club, same promos, etc — while the other half is nothing we’d be interested in. I’m not positive she’s a “qualified” observer, but it’s the best info I have.

Assuming this is true, that means at the $1 and higher level you’ll find 8/5 Bonus, 9/6 Jacks, 9/5 Super Double Bonus, NSU, 9/7 TDB and a few other games in this general range. The slot club “only” goes up to 0.2% (during certain days/hours), so as noted previously you need to be a local and get mailers/promos to make NSU worth over 100% — although room comps could be worth something.

If you’re not local, it’s too “out of the way” to visit anyway — and most locals don’t need room comps except very occasionally.

I always felt the place was just too for out of the way. The plays there would have to be better than average in order to justify driving that far and from what bob just said it sounds like they aren’t. Maybe Dotty’s will do some special promotions above the standard Dotty’s promos in order to boost traffic.
