New Game?

If this game has a random multiplier between 2 and 10, why is the average multiplier not 6.0, rather than 4.05? I assume the answer is game design, but that makes it less than random.

As long as they state somewhere on the machine how the multiplier is derived, it could still be completely random without being the average of the possible multiplier number. For instance, if they state that the odds of multipliers are as follows:
2 -- 9 out of 45
3 -- 8 " " "
4 - 7 " " "
5 - 6
6 - 5
7 - 4
8 -3
9 -2
10 - 1 out of 45
... and use an appropriate random drawing for each pick out of the possible 45, then it is, in fact, completely random, but the average value of the multiplier in the above scenario is only 4.66 instead of 6. Got to watch the casinos; they'll trick you if they can, and it will be all legal.

Cheers.
