We only come to Vegas maybe twice, three times a year depending on airfare
from Chicago. He is Diamond at Harrahs and I am Platinum. We get decent enough
offers/rates from Harrahs/Rio which is where we have always stayed and not paid
for a room yet. We do not have high demands as far as the room goes - we like
Rio better than Harrahs but a standard room at Harrahs is just fine. We're
hardly ever in it. We are primarily heavy quarter players - maybe 12 hours a
day. 30% of that day will be spent relieving some vp carpal tunnel by wandering
the dollar slots or switching to triple play quarters or each playing dollar vp
for a few hours depending on our bankroll for the day. Maybe 20k a day each
through the machines. We do not play advantage games only. We like DDB and
triple bonus for the thrills. Recreational players only - for the fun - so no
comments please on variance etc. What we're looking for this year is a new place
to establish ourselves for future offers. I'm trying to determine who might
find our kind of play most attractive for room offers. On strip - off - doesn't
matter to us. There's been alot of talk on this board about off strip casinos
catering to locals and the strip to out-of-towners. We obviously don't care
about bounceback but cashback at the end of a stay is always nice. Mostly, we
want the room and occasional tournament offers to motivate a spontaneous trip.
We'll start this first trip mid-summer (off season) to get the cheapest rates in
the hopes to have it comped off based on our play by checkout. But where do
you all suggest? And why?
