New Elko Casino

This past week, the new Gold Dust West casino opened up here in Elko. New
Player's Club members get a $5 food comp and a T-shirt after you get your
first 100 points. (I didn't do the calculation on how much coin in for a point,
but I managed the 100 points in less than an hour on a .05 machine.)
Unfortunately, their VP inventory isn't much better than the other joints in town.
Some 7/5 BP at the bar; a few MGMD $1 8/5 BP machines...a number of machines
with 9/6 DB...WHA (6/5) at both the .05 and .25 level...and, even though I
don't play DW, some machines with paytables that look worse than "ugly ducks".

Gold Dust West has a coffee shop, but no buffet. It also seems
extraordinarily dark in there. (The place is a renovated supermarket.)

On a different note, I've discovered a couple of "Royal 7s" machines in
town. (That pay 4000 credits for 4-7's.) Unless I'm doing the analysis wrong,
it seems like these are a couple of the better plays around here...better
than, for example, all the 8/5 JOP & BP I've run across. I managed to get 4-7's
on the .05 machine at the Stockmen's but haven't had similar luck on the .25
machines at the Red Lion. (Speaking of the Red Lion, they not only reduced
my weekly "bounceback" mailings from $10 to $5, but have now also reduced the
days so you can only redeem them Sunday thru Thursday.)

So that's what we're up against in the Northeast part of the state.
