I got another offer from the Belle today. They are having 8 NASCAR
parties this season including food, cocktails and drawings for 20
Driver Jackets. The offer: 3 free nights, Arrival Gift, Two party
tickets (attend one or all 8). What makes this offer unusual is that I
can book it clear into October. I have never had an offer with that
much lead time.

Drive all the way to see car races on TV? I am not so sure- after
driving I-40 from Barstow to Needles I will have seen enough car races!

It almost sounds like you are bitching about being treated right.

I think your offers from the Colorado Belle are from a one-hit wonder. How
about a pot-shot on a dollar IGT slant-top machine? Maybe a $100 bill for the
wife to play some plain old Jacks or Better? Just to see what happens? Bang!
Oh, 4k! Invites for life. (wink-wink: I was in the town when, after we said
goodnight, the wife hit)

Personally, I had my second to most improbable gambling related event happen
to me at the Colorado Belle. I got snagged walking by the Mardi-Gras room
enterance, you know the outside north doors, by an aquaintance having a smoke.
She needed some company/escort for the Academy Awards Show/Promo two years ago.

My drunken carcass got instantly rushed into eating a fine dinner downstairs
in the bowels of the CB. I consumed the biggest shrimps, from a cocktail. I
ever ate. Three more courses and then a contest based upon Academy Trivia,
answers from the random minds from the 12 seated at the table.

This one old gentleman contributed more than half the answers to the quiz
sheet. I think I had input for one answer, confirmed by another. Sure enough
our test blank had more correct answers than any of the other banquet tables.

What was the prize? The gal walked around the the 12-top table handing out
$100 bills. What an event...my God sent me to experience.

I guess this was a thread hi-jack, but it is CB related. I wish they would
send me some mail.

I gotta tell ya the last time I had dinner at Mark Twain's I had a
shrimp cocktail with huge shrimp also. It was a real treat.

I like playing and staying at the CB. I've always been able to hold
my own playing VP there. I just wish their BJ was more liberal.
Gone are the days of CB's single deck like at the Riverside.. only
that 6/5 BJ payoff malarkey. Even the double deck doesn't allow
doubling down on any first two cards like at the Flamingo.

No I am not bitching or complaining at all about my CB offers. My
point in that post was simply because I thought others might be
interested in offers being sent out.

Yes, I still remember that nice $1 royal, but I do not believe that
is an invite to lifetime offers. Last spring I came down with my son
and double booked at the CB (on a room offer) and Harrahs. Upon check
in, I found I had full RFB at the CB for the entire stay. I basically
stiffed them, as I only gave them only $2k action in a 4 night stay,
and charged almost $200 in food on the account. My offers dried up,
but last October I gave them one very strong day while not staying
there. Suddenly my offers are back again. The more I play this
offer/comp game, the more I am convinced that daily action is the
key. One strong day is better than 3 days of mediocre play. Maybe
others have a different expierence.

Well, I am heading to Las Vegas in the morning. I wonder if I will
run into your smoking aquaintance that you mention in your story.

Well I'll tell you what really puzzles ME about the CB. For the last
couple of years now, someone has arranged it so that my room
is entirely comped, except for the weekend. So it's not full RFB,
but nonetheless I'll be staying there next month for seven nights
and only have to pay for five. I'm just curious what action
someone there expect(ed)s of me to get that, because it's really
surprising me.
