I was thinking the same think. We live in Kansas and only get to Vegas once or twice a year. We only made it once this year (Aug1-6). My wife and I managed to reach Sapphire level in two days and accumulate 27,000 points on my card. This was playing the triple nickels at The Orleans and the five play nickels at Gold Coast (both short pay). I checked today and those 27k converted to 900 points so we maintain Sapphire.
I just saw another person post that their 27,000 converted to less than 100 tier points. Very interesting to say the least. There has to be many factors in their new algorithms. I’m very curious now…
Someone on another board calculated that $108 earns a tier credit for 9/6 JOB the game I play most. This seems about right as my approximately 35,000 earned so far in 2018 points got me 376 tier credits. My wife’s tiny bit of slot play and my playing a few hours of bonus poker accounts for for my earning a few more points than if I had played JOB exclusively. Everything is based the theo now except slots earn a tier credit for $5.00 on all games.
Anyone have info on Southpoint Casino- room offers , players club etc.
I am looking for another casino as I can see Boyd’s is making it difficult for me to afford to fly to Vegas and end up getting stung on being a ruby - and not receive points towards food etc .

I guess the ACG food coupons at Boyd properties are basically worthless if you’re Ruby. Their Tuesday offer of a free buffet for 20 tier credits could take a long time to get on VP.

From how I am understanding this new system, if a Ruby member isn’t able to play error-free video poker, the member would actually lose less “per tier point” by playing slots.
And if the Ruby member is able to play perfect error-free video poker, then its a total wash between VP and slots, so if time is of more interest then playing the game the member enjoys playing, Ruby members will earn points faster with the same expected loss “per tier point” playing slots as they would perfect video poker.
With the 2X promo for Ruby members, 20 tier points is $50 through slots, or $1100 through 9/6 jacks.
