Just an observation…It seems that all I have been reading as of
late is nothing but doom and gloom. What happened to the aspect of
playing postive expectation machines for positive results??? If you
are playing FPDW at 100.76% and you continue playing at near perfect
levels isn't it true that the longer you play, the more you will
make??? True, you may go thru a losing span, but overall, given
enough time and hands, you will eventually come out ahead. Is that
not true???

Well of course it is true, but the doom and gloom around here is
somewhat tied to the loss of some good plays, and the lower overall
hourly expectation that has resulted. Even though those are bad,
especially for the dollar players, I think the big fear is that
all the remaining good machines will disappear. Cuts in casino
promotions and mailers add to this atmosphere. For the vacationer,
this is not necessarily all that big a deal, but for those of us
who play full time, it is a concern. Of course, since it is beyond
our control, there is not much point to worrying. About all one
can do is keep playing or look for a real job. If the return gets
too low, I am sure many of us will do so.

Probably not true. Perfect play is almost impossible. Keys stick, you get distracted, drink too much, etc.

Well of course it is true ...

QZ, don't forget that important disclaimer: "provided you're playing
with a sufficient bankroll" (physical and emotional).
The downswings (e.g. RF droughts of 300K+ hands) can be brutal and
sufficient to drive a player out of the game despite "positive
expectations". This is true for the pro and the vacationer as well.
As you allude, cutbacks not only in paytables but cash benefits as
well serve to reduce the cushion against those downswings.
