The game mentioned by the original poster was dollar single line (hopefully
9/6) JOB. If you have lost $5K in four hours at this game, you are a truly
talented individual! That is (at 1000 hph) a 25% loss rate, meaning you hit no
hands better than a straight in 4000 hands. Highly unlikely would be a gross
understatement.
Having played this game for several hundred hours, my worst session (about
six hours) is minus $2600. Losing more than half a Royal in one session at
this game is unusual.
I have lost $5K in one nine hour session at dollar single line 10/7 DB, but
variance for this game is about 50% higher than for JOB.
