We are planning a cruise on the NCL Getaway. While bad games on a cruise ship is the general rule, how bad are the rules? Any 99% VP? Is Blackjack a reasonable alternative? Are Blackjacks 3/2?
NCL Getaway video poker and blackjack rules
Just got off the Getaway. The VP is abysmal 94-96% and no progressives.
Black Jack is 3-2, $15 minimum, auto shuffle machines with 8 decks. Texas holdem $2-$5 no limit. I did not play, too many other fun things to do. The casino was packed every night-go figure. Saving my bankroll for Vegas!
Cruise ship video poker sounds horrible. I guess BJ is the way to go.

Auto shuffle or continuous shuffle?

Continuous shuffle is beatable because of the buffer.
Please explain what “buffer” means. I always thought that continuous shuffle only affected card counters.

I just got off the Celebrity Summit. VP was bad but BJ is 8 deck hand shuffled $10 minimum and dealer hits soft 17. BJ pays 3 to 2 except on the single deck game.
The csm article indicates that tracking a mere 16 cards out of an 8 deck shoe (416 cards) is effective. How can that be? It is less than 4% of the cards.
