NCL Cruise

Just got back from a week in the Eastern Carribbean aboard Norwegian Dawn, (our first
cruise) and of course had to test the casino. My game of choice is BP, and was really
surprised to see that the payout was 10 for a full house instead of the 8 to which I'm
accustomed. And 8 for a flush instead of 5. But then I looked a little closer and saw that
they only pay even money for two pair. I guess that was my first awakening at how often two
pairs show up. All in all, except for an Ace quad (and a few 5 or higher ones) I didn't do well
at all.

Wife, on the other hand, played a little single deck BJ ($10 min. bet) the last day of the trip
and managed to parlay $20 into $250 in a very short period of time. Unfortunately (argh) it
only payed $6/5 for BJ and she scored a bunch, which would've made her total even higher.
Tables with shoes did pay $3/2 though.

So both of these games not too good, but what are ya gonna do when you're hooked and
need a fix?

Did you notice any of the other pay tables like jacks or 2s?

Sorry Mike, just can't remember. My wife played a little jacks and we noticed she was
getting 2 for 1 on her two pair but now neither one of us can remember what the payback
was on full house or flush.

Since I last wrote I picked up an interesting cruise tidbit not related to VP. At least it was
interesting to me but not necessarily interesting to anyone who's not catholic. A priest
told me last week that on Holland America there's always a priest on board. I didn't think
to ask the priest (yet) but it begs the question...how can they always plan something like
that?
