NCL Casino at Seas

Wanted to check to see if anyone is still a member of this group. With the packed casinos on cruise ships and the number of land based casino’s comping cruises, I’m surprised there are never any posts here.

I’ll share one recent experience we had here (but probably also repeat it on one of the more used boards). Last year I questioned a NCL Casino at Seas rep on the phone as to why they do not make offers to players, He said CAS cannot make any cruise or FP offers to people who cruise to them on offers from any land based casinos (Like Caesars, Palms, Cosmopolitan, etc. in Vegas) because then CAS would be in conflict with the casinos. Doesn’t make sense since we gamble on the ships with them, not CET, etc. I also said the other cruise lines DO give cruisers offers directly to people who gamble on RCL, Princess, etc. I get them all the time from the other line’s casino depts.

Now move the timeline to this past January. I was on the phone with CAS over our two CET 7 star cruises that were coming up at the end of January. This woman said, btw are you interested in using any of your and your wife’s free cruise offers from NCL CAS? I asked what she was talking about and she said we both had 3 offers (6 free cruises, 2 were anywhere up to 11 day cruises). I said I didn’t know about them and she said we should be getting snail mail offers in the mail and we must be throwing them away. I told her we never got them and in fact had been told 6 months earlier we couldn’t get offers from CAS because we were CET & Cosmo customers. Last week I called them back and they booked us 4 of these offers, two of which will be long transatlantic cruises (we have never tried one of these since with CET they are never allowed).

Anyone else actually receiving offers directly from NCL CAS?

Dave

I’ve been getting direct offers for years, either for a ‘free’ cruise on almost any ship/itinerary for a certain period, or for a specific cruise tied to a tournament. BUT, even if you do not have a snail mail offer in hand, call CAS directly if you are in a cruisin’ mood (as we in CT are RIGHT NOW!) and they will, depending on your onboard play, give you something, either a discount, or free.

Last year we tied a ‘free’ cruise with a discount they offered on another room and took my son & family on a Fla/Bahamas vacation. What type of room, and on what itinerary you would like to go will vary, but cruisin’ is cruisin’

We’re headed out on a 9 day Eastern Caribbean in 3 weeks, and believe me, it can’t get here too soon!

BTW, if you do call them directly, they will also apply whatever special offers are being advertised generally to your accommodations. When I booked this upcoming cruise, they offered a choice of a beverage package, a dining package or a cash room credit in addition to the ‘free’ room
