Guys,
I was down to GT Monday playing Pick'Em, mostly, on the recently
moved bank of GameMakers. The room that it's in now has to be the
noisiest room in the casino. The problem is that it's filled with
video slots and each machine has it's own irritating electronic
sounds.
There is electronic ringing, binging, twinkling, pinkling,
roaring, roller coastering, male voices, 3 or 4 different types of
music, along with the normal PA Rock N' Roll blaring out through the
room. And to top it off, there's John Phillips Souza marching music
blasting away on top of it all. I can't imagine anyone being able to
stay in that room for any length of time and come out sane. In my
case, I wasn't sane when I went in, so no problem.
My nomination for a name for that room is: The Babel Room. Or we
could just call it simply, the "Video Slots Room." The other room
names are simple. There's the Poker Room, the GameMaker Room, and the
GameKing Room.
How did I do, you ask?
I hit the casino at around 10:30. I saw that the dollar
progressive at the bar was to $5200. I put in $200 and played Bonus
Poker. Up and down, up and down, until finally, I hit a $175 quad and
left $90 ahead. I lost $40 playing some slots, (I know, I know, why
da slots?) then put the $250 I had left in a GmeMaker and played
Pick'Em.
Four hours later, it was all gone, 1400 credits. I played the
third machine from the left and only had about seven or eight trips
dealt to me and even less 3 to a royal. Very unusual. I believe in
randomness, but after playing several million hands of Pick'Em over
the years, all over the country and Canada, and watching the results,
I'll never play that particular machine again, just in case.
On the way out, I put a couple of twenties into the White Hot Aces
and hit the four Aces for $300 to get back to even for the day. Very
lucky.
