My apology to the group; I'll be limiting my posts from now on

Bill (Coleman), can you read? I didn't say I was bored. I didn't say "stop
posting." I wouldn't presume to give orders to anyone. I was ONLY EXPRESSING
MY
OPINION regarding excessive (in my opinion!) posting! And I did it without
any
name-calling. "Boorish?" "The right to control the list?" Please!

If you have problems understanding the English language, I sympathize.
Please
feel free to ask me to interpret for you before you respond to something I
didn't say.

Oh, and if anything I write offends you, please feel free to "set up a
filter
to send them to trash!"

Coincidentally, I was preparing a post very similar to Brians' at about the
same time he posted his.
All I was going to say was, "Bill, do you feel you HAVE to post an opinion
about
EVERYTHING you read here? Is there a subject you have no opinion on?
Do you HAVE to write a War & Peace answer to EVERYBODY?"

There now, I feel better. No insult, no demands made, no name calling.

Here is a more objective approach to this subject:

bjaygold's comment was message #23,776 on Saturday Dec 13 @ 4:44pm.

In the previous 80 messages Bill Velek authored 24 of them.

We all have authored bursts of new posts and replies, but this is 30%.

How about a bigger sample? Go back 290 messages from #23,776 to
Monday morning Dec 8th. Bill authored 47 of these, which is about
one out of six messages posted during this span. Harry is also
prolific on occasion. During this span he authored 9 messages.

My opinion-

Bill posts the same topic on many boards. This also contributes to a
redundant situation.

Bill says he does the e-mail option instead of the digest format or
visiting the archives on the home page. So he answers every post
instead of seeing how a topic evolves.

Another poster encouraged Bill to keep posting since the group will
never run out of posts. Well, the group is losing archives everyday
with the limited storage space Yahoo! allows. Our Admistrator trys
to prune the old stuff, but everything in this group is less than two
years old. We have been losing stuff since this summer.

I don't want to dampen any newbie VP spirit, after all Bill is
finally getting off that short coin notion!

Imo, if the administrator's looking for more posts to "prune", most
of those in this thread(as well as any other threads that descended
to personal snits, or started out that way to begin with) are ripe
candidates. This way, the more useful, practical, ON-topic posts
would be preserved(longer).

Just my 2c tho.
