I certainly agree with everything you have said. In E-life however, the troll
is not ignored but goes on and on, stimulated by equally guilty troll
followers who just can't seem to fathom the fact that trolls and other
boringly limited intellects will go away if ignored. In other words they are
so compulsive about interacting with these non-contributory zilches that they
themselves approach cypherdom.

You say it more artfully than I, as usual. Don't feed the trolls.
Keep a sense of humor and a sense of perspective. The world will not
cease rotating if, instead of setting fingers frantically whirling
over a keyboard to hurl vehement arguments to someone who revels in
your attention, you pour yourself another cup of coffee... this time
with a shot of the good stuff.
