What was the denomination? What was the paytable? Did you know the
correct strategy modifications and, if you did, were you as careful
to study each move like you would if you were risking your own
money?
Fair point, Jean. I still get the impression that people look to the
strategy revisions for MS as simply getting them a modest .2% or so
additional return over standard strategy (e.g. 99.7% vs. 99.5% for JB).
In actuality, MS strategy changes are critical to MS return. 9/6 JB
MS played with standard strategy on all levels yields an ER below 98%
-- a full 2% sub par. (Which, of course, is why the very poor
paytables at which some casinos have installed the game is extremely
short sighted and results in unplayed machines.)
However, even if you assume that he applied less than optimal strategy
and that the paytable wasn't a 99%+ ER one (although as a demo I would
fully expect a "full pay" schedule was implemented), a 1000 credit
gulp in 5 minutes is going to be far more reflective of game volatility.
