Multi-Strike at the Peppermill

There are two MS machines at the Peppermill. One is listed in the database as JOB, the other as NSUD. One is located just outside one of the entrances to the Fish Bar, against the wall. The other is midway between the Island Buffet and the cashiers cage, not far from the Cube Bar.

BEWARE if you play either of them.

As I recall, here are things I noticed this visit that I hadn't seen before.

JoB on both of them looks like a standard 9/6 pay table - except that the Royal payout has been slashed from 4000 coins to 1200.

Deuces:
Island Buffet-cage machine - standard NSUD table.
Fish Bar machine - paytable was not as good as NSUD before and now it has been slashed to 1200 for the royal on top of that.

Expected returns with reductions in RF from 4000 to 1200:
for JOB from 99.54% to 98.37%
for NSUD from 99.73% to 98.48%

I used to always check both 1-coin and 5-coin payouts before starting to play any machine. Lately I've gotten lazy in checking 5-coin paytables, especially on machines I've played in the past, and since I've never hit a royal on either of those machines on either game, I don't know how long the machines have been that way - but it appears that it's time for renewed caution.

If I remember correctly, both of these machines are actually 5-play Multistrikes, and they'll penalize the royal if you play anything less than 100 coins (5 coins per line * 5 play * 4 lines)... which is a rather scary $25/deal. Did you verify that you were checking the fully-loaded paytables on these games?

When I last looked (last visit 2 months ago), both machines did offer 9/6 JOB when fully loaded to 100 coins... I neglected to check the deuces paytables because I'm not up to speed on NSUD MS strategy.

(I would so love it if they offered 5-cent or 10-cent 5-play MS with FPJB or NSUD ... much more palatable cost per deal, great fun, not profitable for pros, and I think the casino would still make big profits since most people can't properly manage the four unique strategies for each paytable...)

Thanks...

They have two such machines at JANugget...

You folks are absolutely correct. They are five play machines. Five play is too rich for me on MS, so I was playing single play. It never occurred to me that they might be full - pay on the RF only when playing all five hands!

That still ruins the play for me, unfortunately, but it suggests that this doesn't represent a change for the worse at the Peppermill - that's a good thing.
