Multi play video poker cd

I called Masque about the EV problem, that a higher EV
hand is lower in the list of strategies. They said it
was because they combined similar hands (i.e. penalty
cards , etc). Since then I use Winpoker for strategy
and Masque for its Monte Carlo simulation for bankroll
considerations. BTW, the first day I got Masque I
played 50 play duece wild, drew 4 2's about an hour
into the session. I thought this VP thing was going to
be easy!

Recently purchased Masque Publishing's CD-ROM from
the videopoker.com
site (great place to practice for free). For $12.95
you get 3-, 5-,
10-, 50-play, and spinpoker for 11 popular games.
Each game also
allows you to select from five different pay tables.
Additional
features include some nice tracking info. and
strategy tables you can
use to train (feature can also be turned off).

One problem I'm having is the variation between
Masque's strategy
engine and the results provided by VPSM (Tom Ski's
program), which I
have used for a long time and trust the most.

I've never used Winpoker or Frugal VP, but I would
be interested to
know if anyone has run into similar discrepancies
between strategy
engines, and what they've done to obtain the VP
truth (no pun
intended).

Odds-defying Royals for all!

Appreciate the reponses DJ, Howard, and Mark.

I forgot to mention the patch, and if you purchase you will need to
update at the masque.com site.

I can understand discrepancies resulting from combining similar
hands, but it doesn't explain the slight variation in ev between
identical hands or some of the logic. For example, in Triple Double
Bonus VPSM recommends only holding the kicker when dealt three aces,
but the masque program also recommends holding the kicker with three
two's, three's, or four's.

I think Masque should give Tom Ski a call.
