Greetings to all. I have been playing video poker for approximately
14 months now and have played mostly FPDW & 9/6 JoB. Have a grand
total of one (1) royal and am delighted to have hit that one. I was
playing at MSS on Sept. 5,6,& 7 this month and do believe that I saw
the "team" in question. It was a man and a women playing two (2) of
the three (3) upright machines located along the buffet wall. I
actually saw her hit a royal (in spades, while holding 3 cards).
When she hit the royal, she stopped playing, hit the change button
to get her scratch card and they both just sat there. Zero and I
mean zero response or excitment. I saw the royal at once and said
something like, "Hey pretty cool." She just looked at me like I
smelled bad (which I probably did, but anywho) and mumbled something
about...'slow f-ing change people'. I later saw them put the same
two (2) machines out-of-service for at least an hour & a half. What
a couple of creeps. If I were responsible for the $$$ at MSS and saw
this type of action, I would wait about 32 seconds before down-
grading or simply removing these machines. Having nasty people win
money, get free meals, free rooms and then put machines out-of-
service while they eat...this type of player is exactly what a
casino can do without. Just my opinion...I could be wrong.

I agree with you. Even if you have a positive expectation and/or are
a "professional" player, casinio gambling should be FUN. People that
make casinos less fun for others should be thrown out.
I understand if there's only one or two of a "certain" machine that a
player wants locked up, but after a while the machine should be
available to other patrons. The casino should remember that when they
lock up a 100%+ machine, chances are they are locking out a lot of
bad players as well.
Unfortunatly, casinos are much like the rest of the world where the
(rich) jerks get many of the breaks.

And, I suppose, YOU wish to be appointed the Person-In-Charge-of-
Determining-Just-Who-Is-Spoiling-The Fun. What would cause YOU to
toss someone out of a casino (besides closing down a machine for a
short period of time and getting nice comps)? Since I plead guilty
to both of those (in your opinion) transgressions, I guess, if you
had the authority to do so, I'd be tossed out. BTW, I'm an
attractive non-smoking person, who has a smile for most people, is
not in the least nasty, minds MY OWN BUSINESS, is generally liked by
the casino employees, and is considered a VERY GOOD customer by
every casino in which I play. Lets see if I've got this right: if
I'M playing a FP machine that YOU'D like play, for longer than YOU
think I should, then I'm making your casino experience "less fun"
and should be tossed out by the management. Is that correct?

The person that I was replying to told the story about some patrons
who complained and had a surly attitude even though they WON MONEY. I
think that people should have a good attitude in a casino and should
have FUN, especially if they are winning.

No, I don't think that all rich people are jerks. However, many high
rollers are allowed to get away with behavior in a casino that would
not be tolerated if a low roller did it. eg. touching/ripping cards,
swearing, yelling, etc.

I agree. Unless you are a "Pro", grinding out a
living (perhaps) if you're not enjoying yourself, what the heck are
you doing there? I also much appreciate excited enthusiasm after a
nice win. I feel sorry for people who can no longer feel and
exhibit the thrill of scoring a Royal, 4 deuces, 5 of a kind etc.
What's the point of being there otherwise? Being unpleasant and
surly to casino personnel or other players is uncalled for. One
must take pity on these wretches because they are miserably unhappy
and must vent on someone. If someone is rude to me, I try to be

I agree again, essentially. I would question whether all, or even
most, "high rollers" are rich. Many are rich-wannabes, or poor,
addicted compulsive gamblers. I don't think any person who is
exhibiting boorish, bad behavior should be tolerated by a casino, no
matter how much they are enriching their coffers. So, you see, we
are pretty much in agreement, after all. I apologize for my sarcasm
in the previous post. I guess I was much too sensitive and jumped
to unwarrented conclusions.

columns) or you want to compliment me on my wonderful choice in

want to talk to you. Some people just don't seem to want to take
hints that I don't want to converse with them. That's when the
headphones go in and the music goes up.
Speaking of this does anyone think I will have trouble with my Treo
600 in casinos. I use it as my MP3 player, but it is also a cell
phone and has an antenna. I don't want anyone to think that I am
getting help on FPJW, like that was possible at 900 - 1000 hph.
If you want to see my kilts, I have 3, I will be in town from Nov 3
to Nov 10 with side trips to the Grand Canyon and Red Rock Canyon. I
usually stay downtown at the Plaza if free, or at El Cortez because I
like the atmosphere, the rooms, and the fact that most people leave
you alone there. If you don't want to see me, that's fine too.
