MSS Caution

We just spent the weekend playing at MSS and ran into some interesting
issues.

1) They are merging their computer systems between CAL, FREMONT and MSS.
Several manager meetings about "issues" were held over the weekend. There
have been several complaints from various patrons as well.

2) For the hours we played, it seems our coin-in was a lot lower than usual.
In the past I've been pretty accurate with the # of hours and our speed of
play. It seems that either I was ALWAYS wrong or suddenly we're not getting
the credit for our coin-in. Based on their current amounts we would have
averaged something like 350+ hands per hour. I don't think so. The slant
tops (Game Kings) and the upright FPDW are very very fast - you'd have to be
waiting quite a long time for a scratch card to be playing at 350 hands per
hour.
In the recent past, we've had NO PROBLEM in playing there about 8 total
hours per day and getting more than our coin-in requirement. Now it's taking
much much longer. After about 10+ hours of play they said we only had $4671
coin-in, that's 375 hands per hour and I played the DW for a 1/3 of that
time.

3) Certain machines are rating as reel when they are actually video poker. I
spent quite a few hours with the hosts, showing them the EXACT machines we
played and none were reels. So far, the likely candidates are the FPDW
against the buffet because they are the only ones that contain "reel" like
games. Also, the numbers showed my "reel" play was higher than Dawn's and
that makes sense if it were those machines because I was on them longer.
This is interesting because over the past 6 visits at least, we only play
the same machines, again and again.

4) We were told that we changed denomination but we never did. That's a
stranger one than any of them... We were paranoid careful this trip because
someone from LVA warned us about this discrepancy.

5) The numbers within MSS's own computer system do not agree with each
other.
For reel play you get 3 pts / $20.
For video poker you get 2 pts / $20.
Taking the number of points we received and then reverse calculating gives
you the amount of coin-in needed to generate these point numbers. The coin
in that the computer itself displayed was lower than either of the
calculated values. I kept saying to them that there's NO WAY that coin in
could generate those points. Based on previous play the number of points
seemed accurate. In the past we would acquire an average 600 points per day
across 3 days.

Example) having 500 points, you would need a coin in of $3333 if playing
reels and a coin in of $5000 if playing vp. If you played both the number
would be in between the two but ours wasn't.

Any resolutsions (no):
At first they gave me an excuse of the new system and how the numbers have
to "catch up" with each other. They actually said this. Then by Sunday they
were saying how management said the coin-in number is correct and that we're
just getting more points because we suddenly played reels and that we might
be getting even more points than before and should not complain.

The problem here is that comps are based on coin-in NOT points.
We spent a good time establishing ourselves at silver level and we wanted to
stay there but this is ridiculous. We're not going to circulate 8K to be
told it's only 5K.
So, please be aware of machines you are playing. What denom and for how
long. In the short term, you should immediately verify these numbers with
the slot club. If the coin-in is not being accurately tracked, there could
be an issue.

For reel play you get 3 pts / $20.
For video poker you get 2 pts / $20.

Actually, when playing on the .25 FPDW (3 quarter minimum machines
nearest the bar) you get 1 point per $5 played. On the nickel base
FPDW, it seems to be 1 point per $20.

I've played these a few times the last three weeks and verified by
actually counting hands, pulling and reinserting card.

Which place is MSS?
