MSS and The Cal - Combine Play or Track Separately?

MSS and The Cal do track play seperately and you will not get "credit" for any play you do at The Cal while staying at MSS. However, ALL play is tracked for purposes of cash back and you will get credit for play that you do at The Cal(though NOT at 3x-that will ONLY be from play at MSS).
If you play about $25K per day (I play about $16-18K) a few trips down the road you will be given a GOLD card which is full RFB and can be used at ANY restaurant at The Cal,The Fremont and MSS. A very nice perk.

Subject: [vpFREE] MSS and The Cal - Combine Play or Track Separately?

I'm going to be staying at MSS later this month on the Dec promo letter

(comp room. 3x point food coupons, etc).

I've played at MSS often but this will be the first time I stay there.

Does anyone know if MSS and The Cal track play separately or if they

combine play? Specifically, I'm wondering if the 3x points will be

ineffect at both or only at MSS, which is where I'll be staying.

I'm also wondering if there's any benefit to giving all my play to MSS

(roughlly $25K coin in per day) to just MSS or to spreading it out to

both MSS and the Cal?

25K for a gold card sounds high, but could be correct
if all you play are the >100% machines .

I was just at MSS this past weekend on an offer letter. This trip and
the two before that, I have averaged close to 25K per day. But I have
not asked a host about getting a gold card because the offer letters
have been pretty tasty on their own:
- coupon book (which I only use half the time - the other half I ask
for and get a comp).
- triple points (but yes, only at MSS and not at Cal unfortunately)
- $100 in free slot play
- and of course the free room for up to four nights.

This past trip I took cash back of $168, and the trip before that it
was $301.

I suppose I could book the offer letter and then inquire as to a gold
card upon arrival??? Seems like the triple points and $100 free play
is better than just the gold card alone.

Two gripes with MSS though:
- In my opinion, the buffet has certainly gone downhill over the last
several years. And so had the Triple 7 the last time I ate there. It
used to be one of our favorite places.
- It would be nice if the hosts would consider some kind of airport
transportation for their best players. I once asked about getting
limo -- or even van -- pickup, and they said they didn't even do
that. That was a few years ago though.

BTW - This past weekend I notice 5 or 6 new VP machines directly in
front of the buffet entrance that had 9-6 DDB in .25/.50/1.00. I
believe there used to be short-pay multis in that spot.

Yes, but don't be surprised if you encounter some friction. I know,
because it happened to me. It wouldn't be because they don't think
you deserve it. At your play, it appears you would. It's mostly
because Gold Card (GFB, and Silver Card - SFB) discretion comes from
the casino side, while the mailed offer comes from marketing.
Different entities. If you're happy with the coupons, cool. But if
you want to find out if GFB is better, make your arrangements through
a host and inquire about a Gold Card. And you'll still be able to
redeem your free play.

MSS offers transportation, but I can't tell you if it's documented.
It appears to be quite discretionary, in that "'we're completely
booked' line for an unknown player while there's plenty of nice suites
available for the high-roller" sort of way.

You can use the offer letter whereby you get the multiple points
being offered and the free play and get the Gold Card too. I do not
know what the CI requirement is for the Gold Card.

I agree, the buffet and Brew Pub have both gone downhill (the buffet
more than the Brew Pub).
I've never had transportation from the airport to the Cal/MSS (never
asked), but I have had limo from the Cal to the airport.
