MS vs FW

Being new to the area, I wonder which CT casino you feel is the best, and
why. I am looking at VP play, comps, hosts and general feelings. Also, what is
the best VP at both FW & MS.

Thanks-Jan

If you are a serious VP player neither MS or FW are good choices. I
believe FW still has a few .25 9/5 Double joker in the old bingo
hall, other than that not much of anything. Mohegan is clearly the
best choice of the two casinos with 1.00 JOB and .25 PKM but still
not great. Read some of the old post on this board and check the
casino database for the exact locations.

It depends on your level. For $1 and up, your only choice is MS
since FW does not offer anything competitive. Also, over the years
MS has always seemed to have 9/6 JOB somewhere in the casino.
However, for quarter players FW is your better choice while they
still have the Sigmas, especially when they offer double points
(about every 3 months but mostly during the week). Also, they send
out marketing comps based on less amount of play and earlier. It's
hard to earn much of anything at the quarter level at MS.

FW looks like a Disney theme park, has some big windows to look
outside, and is big enough for a new person to get lost in, unlike MS
which looks more conventional. They do come around with drinks on
the floor a lot faster at FW, but do not have the many bartops like
MS does.

Double Joker and then Double Jackpot, not Double Double Jackpot, and
not DB. The database is up-to-date. However, if a good paytable
gets added, because of the enormous size of the place, it might take a
while to get noticed, and I only play there when it's double points.

I was at FW yesterday with friends and played the DJs. One
consideration not ususally mentioned is the very loud and active PA
system in the casino with these Sigmas. The PA seemed to have gotten
louder and we were tag teamed by two bombastic announcers. "WILL
DANNY DEAF PLEASE REPORT TO THE BUS LOBBY IMMEDIATELY." "WILL SAMMY
SENILE PLEASE REPORT TO SECURITY IMMEDIATELY." WILL ALS HEIMER PLEASE
CALL LINE 4." Each message seemed to be repeated every minute or so.

This resulted in a most unpleasant experiece, and I look forard to a
visit to the dentist more than returning to play at this particular
casino at FW.

It is very annoying; it reminds me of being in Junior High or KMart.
I keep expecting to hear someone being called to the principal's
office or to rush on over and get 2 for 1 flashlights in aisle 9.
And that room has it the worst. You can hear the music better
though, if you like pop radio.

Both casinos brought in people from Vegas and AC to set up their
places. But then they leave. And then the regular people running
the place don't have the many years of casino experience to draw
from. Like at MS where the lights in the old poker room stare at you
reflecting from the glass; no other part of the casino does that.
The trouble is that in the slot/VP areas there is no one but
cashiers, waitresses, change people, etc. to hear the complaints, whom
obviously don't care.

Was wondering if any of you at are still going to MS have noticed if
the $5 pickems are getting any action? I suspect that the reduction
in comp rates on these have cooled off the play even thought playing
these is probably better than a $5 9/6 elsewhere.

Thanks in advance. Jack

I was there 2 weeks ago and it was pretty dead.
Some folks there in the evening, but not playing
full coin pickem.
I have noticed a couple of the old regulars around,
but I see more of them when I'm in Vegas.
The comp rate on the $5 machines was lowered for
every game on the machine, not just pickem.

It's kind of like your lover telling you to get lost
in February, then calling back in June wanting less
of a relationship.
